I put in my tower and think I unplugged some wires on my ignition. The boat will turn on with the ignition switch but not turn off. I turn the key off and the boat will not turn off so I have to unplug the harness to get it to turn off. My DESS key has never worked either so I cannot turn it off that way either. Can someone give me any advise on as how to fix these two issues? Thanks ahead for your time!

If you have a Merc boat... you don't have a DESS system. You have a standard "Kill" lanyard.
Anyway.... I have no idea what you may have done. The key should shut off the power... and that will shut off the computer, and power on the engine. In turn... it should shut off regardless of the "Kill" wire.
So, unfortunately... since this is a self induced problem... you will have to get your head under the deck, and look at the wiring.
