I have a 2002 Seadoo GTX with about 40hrs on it. I recently had it out and was running great. The lake recently turned over and had lots of alge on it. I was going about 55 when it seams like I sucked up some weeds, had a loss of power or winding sound like when the intake grate gets full of seaweed. I jumped off and checked the grate and noticed there wasn't any seaweed stuck. But it still sounds that way if I give it full throttle. It runs alrigth and no warning lights come on, it just doesn't have the "get-up" anymore. Would something have got sucked up into the impeller? How can I check or find out? And is it possible to do it while in the water or do I have to take the GTX out of the water? Thanks for any help!!!!

I had a similar problem yesterday on my '95 XP. I still had no power after removing the weeds. Upon further inspection I found a small piece of wood wedged in the impeller. I had to remove the intake grate to get to it, but now all is fine.

Welcome to the seadoo forum Estphens. You need to look at the seadoo on the trailer to look up inside the jet pump.

Thanks, Thats what I was thinking because it was fine otherwise. I was just hoping I could do it simply on the water. Oh well, hopefully it will be that simple though. When I take the intake grate off is there anything else I need to do? Or is it simply on by just screws or bolts?

Just the screws you see...Anything you do on your seadoo should be out of the water...unless you can hold your breath for a while...
