Hi, hope someone can help, or at least point me in the right direction.

I have an '01 XP and when out in the water recently, the ski cut out, and wouldn't restart. Initially I thought it was the battery as I hadn't re-charged between being out a few days previous.

Since being in the garage at home, I've unsuccessfully tried to restart a good few times in between basic fault finding.

Battery fully charged,
Spark plugs checked for spark and gapped correctly,
Topped up fuel tank, tried both regular 'on' and also reserve switch on hull,
Checked all fuses under main hood (battery, vts etc, all ok),
Checked fuel filter and bowl, emptied bowl, attempted restart, and rechecked bowl which was empty.

I suspect that I've got some sort of problem with fuel delivery, what do I do next.

All suggestions greatly appreciated.

possible solutions

check compression, and if all good, think you need to go thru carbs...but before doin carbs, untwist the fuel cap, maybe tank aint venting, then if still no go, then take some fuel, and dump inside plug-holes, see if that fires it up..

Timmyboy, good job, well done!

I dropped some fuel directly into the spark plug holes and it did turn over and catch briefly, but then died. Repeated this procedure with same results.

I then tried another restart with full throttle open and choke full open and she then came to life. Successfully ran her on the hose for a god few moments, so all appears to be well. Unfortunately wont get a chance to take her out on the river till next weekend, so thank you for all your help.
