Just joined the forums and thought i would ask a few questions, hopefully you guys can help me out.

i got an 01 XP and while riding out on the lake this summer, i punched a nice sized hole in the hull somehow, took it in to get an estimate and their saying 2 grand to fix, said it looked like it had been worked on before, so maybe it had been cracked and someone just did a temp fix on it, ive only had the ski for a year.

so while searching around, i have found a 1998 hull that looks in excellent condition, my question is, will the engine, and all the guts fit this hull? were their any changes in the body styles to where the top of the ski will fit, (handle bars, hood and such) and how much of a pain in the ass will this be to switch it around, if it can be done

Fiber Glass Kit

YOU CAN DO IT ! FIBER GLASS KIT IF NOT TO BIG OF A HOLE JUST ASK YOUR LOCAL AUTO ZONE ITS NOT THAT HARD PUT A FEW COATS OF MESH AND RESIN SAND AND PAINT ITS EASY:chillpill:

nah i don't think so, i'm more on the mechanical side than the fiberglass side when it comes to dinking around. besides, these guys pretty much explanied to me the process and it seems a pain in the butt, besides its been worked on before, who knows how big the hole was before and im not about to dig into something i know nothing about to find out how bad it really is

is the 98 hull an xp as well?? if so then it should bolt right in.. they both had the 951 motor in em..

as long as it was a 951, it should work. are they both the same fuel system? if putting injected stuff into a carb hull, you will have to change everything. wiring harness and all. i agree with accelerate...fix the hole in the hull. pop rivet a piece of sheet metal to outside of hole to lay glass up against. use veg oil on inside of metal. start laying in layers of glass. when u thunk u have enough...use more. pull off metal. resin in the rivet holes. grind down high spots. 1 thin smooth layer over outside of damage. glass work is not rocket science. just gotta be willing to make a mess.

that is the best short brief on how to repair fiberglass on a ski..
