Ok Seadoo newbie here (but not new to Jetski’s). I have an 01 GTX Di that was given to me with issues. I replaced the original fuel pump (bad) with a Quantum pump and replaced the reg/rec because it wasn’t charging. The problem I’m having is a mild low rpm skip and a severe “bog” between approximately 3800-4200 rpm (have to really play with the throttle to keep it running). Once it clears 4200 it runs great. I’ve made it to 55 mph so far (water too rough to go faster so far). Wondering what the issue might be? It has new plugs, fresh 93 fuel and fresh oil. All filters have been changed (fuel & oil). Dash shows 270 hours but engine checks out at 127-125 psi compression. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Season is coming to an end quickly

Many on here will agree,,,that the aftermarket pump will not work,,,they draw too much amps,,,causing maintenance 12v message,,,

I agree and did a bunch of research on the subject. The pump I used is the one recommended on this forum. I don’t remember who did the research but there is a whole article written on here about it. The pump Quantum sells for the di is a low amp draw. I don’t have any maintenance warnings or lights on since replacing the voltage reg/rec.

Regardless of what Quantum tells you, those pumps have been very hit or miss over time. I personally chose to buy used OEM instead of Quantum.

Do you have a way to monitor fuel pressure and voltage while running the ski? See if those are both in the right range during the bog. Fuel pressure should be 107 psi. I forget voltage but it is in the service manual which can be found with an internet search. If those are fine, it is likely not the fuel pump.

Unfortunately I don’t have a way yet to check fuel pressure but I can check voltage. I will check ASAP and report back.
