Hello,

First let me take a minute and introduce myself. My name is Lance and I am a heavy equipment technician as a profession. Obviously I have a general mechanical knowledge with my profession, but what I lack is knowledge of PWC. That being said....here we go. I recently aquired a 2000 RX Seadoo(Non-DI) from a friend who was in a financial bind. He bought it from another friend of ours that had recently had a dealer install a new engine. The current hours on the new engine are 8.2. We took the ski out two weeks ago and it run flawlessly. I headed to the lake today to take it for a spin and it will not run worth a flip. I get it out in the water and tried to get it started for 15 mins, with the choke off and on. I finally give it about 1/4 throttle and it fired up but would not idle at all. RPM at idle never got above 800 RPM. Whenever you would let off the throttle it would die. Pulled it back up on the trailer for inspection and notcied oil all in the bottom of the hull. It appears to be just oil, I dont think there is any fuel mixture. I checked the battery and it tested fine. I am going to get the leak fixed first then try and figure out the running issue. Any ideas or suggestions? Do you thing the running issue & leak could be related? Thanks in advance, all suggestions and comments are very much appreciated!
