I've been working on this thing for a while. I rebuilt the carb and cleaned internal filter, changed out all the gray fuel lines, cleaned external fuel filter and housing, cleaned selector valve, pulled out the fuel transmitter and cleaned the small screen on the bottom of it, installed a clean inline filter going to the carb, and drained the fuel tank and put in 91 octane with Stabil in it.

Does anyone have any other ideas on what I can check? I'm starting to wonder about maybe the high speed screw because it seems to do ok as long as I don't go over 1/4 throttle. I know the high speed is supposed to take over at 30% I think. I'm the only person to touch the carb because the ski was used for the first year or so and then sat for the rest. Can the high speed screws get out of whack by them selves or does someone usually have to mess with them.

if the o-ring around it, hardened up, and spring is stuck in collapsed postion, then it can back out.

When you rebuilt the carbs, did you replace the internal n/s spring?

This was my first time rebuilding a carb so all of this is kind of new to me.
I didn't replace the spring because I didn't see one in the kit that was similar. Also everything was so clean the only thing I really found wrong with it was the internal filter was gummed up so I figured the original spring was in fair enough condition. I also left the accelerator pump alone because it seemed to be squirting fuel just fine. Should have I broken into it? I'm thinking of taking the carb back out and bringing it to someone who has done a lot of them so they can go over it. Thanks for the help Timmy

I'm guessing you are talking about the red wire on the Rectifier Assy correct? If I do how do I pull the pin out of the connecter. This is my first time owning a personal watercraft so I don't want to damage either the pin or the waterseals on the back of the pins. Also I forgot to mention I put new apark plugs in it, Looking at them they are ever so slightly damp, with a little bit of black carbon buildup on them. The plugs though only have less then an hour on them. It will be a while until I can try the rectifier trick though because I live in AZ and it's a good hour trim just to get to the lake. As for the RPM's you hit full throttle and it has spurts where you can hear it rev up like it should and it starts to pull, but then just sputters for a bit at what sounds like low RPM's. It mostly stays sputtered down with little spurts of reving up as you hold the throttle wide open. It really seems like a fuel delivery issue, but I'm so new to these things and I know experience is worth way more then any manual out there. Thanks again for the help.

Hi Carteman welcome to the forum. If you are on the page where you just see all of the headings of each thread, there is a box in the upper left hand corner that says "new thread". Click on it and that is how you can start a new thread. It's right above the line that says "Threads in Forum : Trouble Shooting Forum". Of course the "Trouble Shooting Forum" will change depending on what forum you are looking at.

pull the boots off the plug wires, and cut'm 1/4in, then reinstall. Maybe just needed a clean/new contact for better spark..
