‘06 gtx 155. Exhaust Overheating, bad idle

I have a question about my jet ski. I recently got a new wear ring and it rode fine for a few trips but now it is throwing an exhaust overheating code (exhaust p-1544). It’s getting worse and worse and now it idles terribly. I’ve checked pretty good and I don’t think I have an exhaust leak but it could be possible. I have already taken the j-pipe off and check for the 3 holes to see if their clogged and their fine. I don’t what could be the problem. I think it has to be more than just a cooling problem because it idles so bad. Any thoughts?

because you say this started after your wear ring was replaced you should check that the flow reducer for the cooling system didn't fall out of the jet pump. This happened on an RXT that i purchased and i found this in the service manual almost by accident, it was my problem too.

You need to pull the pump, but there should be a metal washer with a yellow silicone coating in the upper left corner.
