    selling a '96 ski without a title?

That's crazy, I do have a PA registration so hopefully that will be enough for W VA. BTW, after I posted my compression readings a couple weeks ago when I asked what the skis are worth, I discovered that the o-ring on my compression tester had a tear in it. So I replaced the o-ring and did...

    selling a '96 ski without a title?

But is there at least a process of getting the ski registered in each state or will people from some states just not be able to buy it?

    selling a '96 ski without a title?

I just called a local notary who told me I would just have to provide the buyer a bill of sale with year, make, model and hull ID and the local notary paperwork would indicate the ski was never titled in PA and that would be all they needed to register it in another state. Has anyone had this...

    selling a '96 ski without a title?

My understanding is that PA does not issue titles for jetskis prior to '97, so when I bought my skis from the previous PA owner in 2008, I got a title for the '97 but just a registration for the '96. I just listed them for sale and have a guy coming up from W Va. tomorrow to look at them. I...

    Cone Oil

Yea, that's actually what I ended up doing. I found an old post from Tony (Dr Honda) that said it's better to use synthetic because it handles the heat better so I went with that. Thanks.

    Cone Oil

I've always used Mobil 75W 90 synthetic gear lube in the jet pump cone but the open bottle I have is sevaral years old and wasn;t sure it was OK to use so stopped to buy a new bottle nbut the store i was at only had the Pennzoil SAE 80W 90 gear oil on the right. Is it ok to use this Pennzoil in...

    Removing Rounded off Bolt

well, the 26mm socket arrived today and it won't fit on the bolt so I guess the next step would be trying JB Weld to attach a new nut to the top. I don't have much experience with JB Weld putty ( I used it to seal the pin holes in the welch plugs in my exhaust pipes on the skis). Any guess if...

    Removing Rounded off Bolt

I was told the only difference between a tank with a 5 yr warranty and a tack with a 10 year warranty is 1 anode vs 2. So I'm pretty sure that replacing the anode as needed will make the tank last a long time. I think plumbers say not to change them cause they want to cahrge you $1,000 to...

    Removing Rounded off Bolt

As mentioned, I have tried an impact driver with a 6 point 1 1/16", but that was after I had already partially rounded the bolt with a 12 point. Apparently the steel is pretty soft cause the 6 point just rounded it more since it didn't fit on perfectly since it was already partially rounded by...

    Removing Rounded off Bolt

OK guys, this post has NOTHING to do with jet skis, but there are alot of expert machinists and mechanics on here that might have some suggestions. I have a rounded off bolt that won't budge. I was attempting to change a water heater anode rod. The head of the anode rod is a 1 1/16" bolt and...

    Aluminum Rave Valve Pistons

I posted in this thread that I did buy some but they thread size was 1.25mm and my rave stem threads are 1.00mm. I got a pretty good price on them so decided to just retap the threads to 1.00mm and try them next summer. I did test tap one and it seems pretty sturdy (more so than the plastic...

    Replacement Rave Housing

Thanks ReKeenan. I looked at about 20 sites after discovering I had the wrong thread size, and the only 1.00mm threads I found were in the country of Mali (and didn't ship to the US). The ones I bought on EBAY were only $19.88 a pair with free shipping, so I got the four with the 1.25mm...

    Replacement Rave Housing

@etemplet I bought aluminum exhaust valves for my '96 and '97 GSXs to replace the plastic ones that keep losing threads. The thread size on the aluminum valves is M8x1.25mm but it turns out the thread size on my rave stems is M8x1.00mm. Do you think it would work OK if I ran a M8x1.00mm tap...

I was going to order these aluminum Rave exhaust valves for my '96 GSX and '97 GSX. 2 Aluminum Exhaust Rave Valve Piston for SeaDoo Ski Doo 787 800 RFI 951 GSX PWC | eBay The description explicitly says they will NOT fit the '96 models. Anyone got any idea why it would say that? The rave...

    1998 gtx rfi. hydro locked

"every time that I reinserted lanyard, the engine would spin for about 4 seconds" Is this simply maybe a bad solenoid stuck closed, then opens and not really hydrolocking? What happens if you jump the solenoid with a screwdriver after it stops spinning for 4 seconds? I had a similiar problem...

    Replacement Rave Housing

I'm not sure how much credence we can put into the accuracy of the measurements from my $5 Chineese made calipers. As a test, I measured a 13/32 drill bit with the calipers. 13/32 = .40625" = 10.31875mm The calipers measured the drill bit at 10.1mm = .397638" A varaince of .008612. Of course...

    Replacement Rave Housing

@etemplet @burtshaver2021 @mikidymac OK, I'm back from vacation and my $5 set of digital calipers arrived. Assuming the calipers are fairly accurate, I measure the hole in the housing to be 0.3937" (10 mm) and the ends of the guillotine shaft at 0.389764" (9.9 mm) but the center of the shaft...
