ahhh, ok...so this guy is advertising it wrong then. It is a brand new 'white' cylinder that he says will work on a 98 and a 99, no mention of a '97.5' model. Glad I did not buy it then...and feel the need to inform him of his blunder. Thanks again for the information.

Crap...thanks for the info but this only adds to my confusion...found the cylinder below on eBay and they say this cylinder will work with both the 1998 and 1999 carb models. How can that be if the porting etc was different in 1998? Be a very big disappointment to get the new/used parts here...
