If your puller hooked under the outer edge of the ring gear, you need to very closely examine the main casting of the flywheel for cracks. That is why the Mercury puller only engages in the center of the casting.

You will need a flywheel puller. About $40 on eBay.

Solenoid not wired right. The 2 large primary cables definitely do not belong on the same terminal. Solenoid in only a relay to use key switch current to control starter current. The solenoid is an old Ford design and should be wired the same.

Start with checking fuel pressure. Not sure of the spec for Opti. Check air pressure, too.

Did you disconnect the temp sensor wires before checking tps? Is your battery fully charged? Have you checked ground wires for green connections?

Check fuel pressure at test valve. 35-37 is spec. Suspect stuck inlet needle inside vst.

If you can find old stock p/n 14851, they are cheaper. I paid $120 4 years ago. Works OK still. Old style comes with round plug. 10 minutes with a soldering iron and the plugs are swapped out. Sometimes entire manifolds show up on ebay complete with TPS for $250. Yes, I understand- used parts.
