Is it normal for the impeller to be a bit sloppy on the spline? It jingles a lot when I fire it up on the water hose.

Talked to a marine mechanic and small engine guy that worked on Polaris skis today. Told them about my vibration/ noise issue. Apparently Polaris skis would do the same thing when the pump and drive shaft were out of phase... I didn't see any match marks when I rebuilt it...any ideas anyone...
