Leaky Raves - SBT Rebuild Kit Quality?

I had issues with the inner o-ring getting hard and not sealing from SBTs kit. I got parts from either Westside Powersports or OSD and haven't had issues since.

    Fuel Injector Service

Good info. I have 2 fuel injected skis waiting their turn for a rebuild and this solidified the need requirement to get the injectors serviced.

    RFI swapping an X4

This build will be the sum of all the good parts I have leftover from 8 years of flipping skis, so worst case I rebuild the carb'd 787 that's there and rock out. My inner glutton - for - punishment self wants to try something different with this ski. I definitely intend to research the...

    RFI swapping an X4

My searches haven't turned up anything - has anyone ever swapped a 787 RFI in place of a carb'd motor in an X4 hull? A fuel injected X4 sounds neat, at least in my book. I have a 97 SPX (build thread link below) that is slated for resurrection this winter and also happen to have parted out a...

    2004 Sea Doo GTI-LE-WTF?

Motor swapping a perfectly running ski a few days before one of the biggest 2 stroke events in the country. I love it.

    Parting Out Skis

Good disclaimer to note. It has never once crossed my mind to do so

    Parting Out Skis

I will second this, especially the hardware. Until you have your 'keeper' skis on the water and are done flipping skis, I wouldn't get rid of much. I've been tinkering with these for almost 10 years now and can't begin to tell you how many things I've sold that I've had to buy back later (which...

    Color change....maybe

I used 2 engine hoists and tied off the front bow hook to 1 and used a long ratchet strap as a sling attached to the other to turn my GTX over. Not saying removing the motor is required, but it was hard enough to rotate a bare hull.

1999 GTI Build - Project Mulligan

This won't be a very tech-heavy thread, but I did want to show what a blank canvas the GTIs are and what some elbow grease can get you. I bought this 99 GTI from a friend that ran when parked for dirt cheap. The ski is all original and has never had a wrench turned on it. Mechanically, all the...

    Carburetor Screws and Small Parts

Another recommendation for the OSD Marine kits. If you don't already have one (and this may have been covered in another thread), a JIS screwdriver is a lifesaver when working on these carbs: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000TG8OTY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks for the kind words. For anyone interested in a build thread on the King Quad, see here: https://www.suzukiatvforums.com/forums/suzuki-kingquad-300/23338-96-king-quad-300-resto-mod.html Since this is a Seadoo forum, here’s 2 of the 3 loads I’ve taken to the dump recently.

    Other Hobbies

Between knowing how to wrench and weld, I ALWAYS have a project going on. It keeps my sanity in check. In no particular order: My 2004 Rhino 660 with long travel and a pile of other goodies. Paid for by flipping Seadoos. My wife and I bought a house in 2017 and have been making it ours...

    RESTO 1997 SPX Build

I found one of the threads I was in search of. There's a few things I want to (try to) do differently, but you get the idea. Installed manual trim on the 96 XP

    RESTO 1997 SPX Build

Not yet. I'm hoping to start working on this ski in a few months. There's a few threads out there that have documented this conversion, none of which I can find at the moment. I'll post up when I find it.

    RESTO 1997 SPX Build

Just to keep this thread up to date (and so it doesn't get locked), the 98 SPX went to a new home this week so I'll finally be building the 97 as my keeper X4. The immediate plan is to install the solas prop, JD grate and sponsons from my 96XP that I sold to Matt, install a Yamaha QSTS cable...

The real cost of that $200 barn find ski..

This is why I love working on these machines. Sure, they can nickle and dime you to death and make you create new curse words when things aren't going well, but look at what the end product is- you've basically got a brand new machine that you built with your own 2 hands that will keep up (if...
