Parting out 1999 gsx rfi fuel injected

Might need the gauge. I have a 99 GTX RFI. Not sure it's the same gauge. Is this a 787 engine? What about the rectifier?

    96 GTX Multi Function Gauge

Got a 96 GTX from a friend and the Multi Function gauge isn't working. There are 3 gauges in the consol; speedometer, tach and the Multi gauge. The speed and tach are working so I don't think it's a power issue. The Multi gauge is heavily oxidized so I'm thinking it's shot. I pulled the cover...

    95 GTX Primer Pump issues

I have a 95 GTX with the choke removed and a primer pump installed. It's a dual carb. The primer pump doesn't work well at all. It might take 20 pumps to get gas going in the line if at all. My Question, should this yr/model use a primer pump at all? Should I go back to the choke. It's a...

Oil Reservoir seems to be leaking

I ended up replacing my Oil Tank as it was leaking around the seams. Now I'm seeing some oil coming out of the check valve that attaches to the Oil level assembly. Is that normal? It seemed to be more than an drip or two. I loosened the oil cap and it stopped. Didn't know exactly how the check...

Oil Reservoir seems to be leaking

I have a 99 RFI and Oil is leaking into my bilge and the only place that seems likely at this point is the oil reservoir. I've pulled it and plan on replacing the grommet at the bottom of the tank where the lines connect. Quick question, does the plastic piece where the lines connect just pop...

    1995 GTX Oil Lines

One of my Oil lines from the oil pump to the engine broke and pretty much ruined the cylinder. Those lines get brittle and break easy. Question I have. Can I replace those two lines with regular gas trimmer fuel line? They are about the same size. Didn't know if the oil pressure would be to...

    1999 GTX RFI won't start

Thanks. I was able to get it started and running. I checked the compression after that and it's about 140psi. So much better.

    1999 GTX RFI won't start

I have a 99 GTX RFI that has been sitting up for about 9 months. Found out the starter was bad. Fixed it and still wouldn't turn over at all. Found out the pistons were stuck. I was able to free it pretty easily. Once I did, I pulled the head and cleaned what I could. Wasn't that bad. Put it...

    1999 GTX RFI won't start

I said hex above. I meant 6mm allen wrench. I don't have much space. That is the problem. Having a very difficult time getting the allen wrench on the bolt. That is why I was wondering if there is another tool that would work better. It is really tight.

    1999 GTX RFI won't start

I'm in Columbus, Ga. I've narrowed it down to a 6mm hex. But can't really get the hex wrench in there to turn it. Wondering if someone used another method or tool.

    1999 GTX RFI won't start

Thanks for this information on the exhaust. My question was in reference to the rear bolt on the starter bracket? What tool is used to get it off?

    1999 GTX RFI won't start

The rear bolt is definitely a PITA! How did you get it out? Pliers or hex wrench? Or some other method? If so what size hex was it? Better question how did you get it back in?

    1999 GTX RFI won't start

Thanks for the input. I've tried everything and that starter isn't turning. So I decided to try and pull it out today. Didn't succeed. Any tips? There seems to be 2 posts on the end, one of which had a 13mm nut on it. On the other one, the nut seemed to be missing or I just couldn't feel...

    1999 GTX RFI won't start

Thanks for the quick reply. I reconnected the laynard and now get 2 beeps. But still same problem. Almost sounds like the starter is shot. Here the clicks in the back and hear a faint sound in the starter.

    1999 GTX RFI won't start

I just picked up a 1999 GTX RFI with an apparent electrical problem. It just clicks when I push the start button. The first thing I did was replace the battery. I took one out of another ski that started just fine. Then I replacd the solenoid relay switch. Does the same thing. When I connect the...
