Hey all! I replaced the thumb throttle on my ‘99 GTX Limited. I had to put a little pressure on the throttle cable to get it around the end of the handlebar to bolt up. Now the ski is idling higher than usual out of water it wants to idle around 3000 rpm. In the water it idles at 1500. It runs...

I finally found the issue. I fried the MPEM for being a dummy and using a jump box. I’m back on the water now. Thanks for all the help!

The OEM solenoid didn’t work. It still tries to crank over as soon as the battery is connected. Bad MPEM?

I’m going to get a OEM solenoid from the shop late this week. They told me there had been some duds in the last batch of non-OEM solenoids they received. Question - if this doesn’t fix the no start issue. Where should I look next?

Also, which post is battery in vs battery out? And one dumb question, how the heck do you get the gasket situated in the cover? I can’t seem to get it to snap back on. The gasket is in the slot inside the cover.

Hey all! Got to the marina today to run the ‘99 GTX LTD. Hooked up the battery, inserted the key, and got the 2 beeps, but nothing happened when I pressed the start button. I jumped the posts on the starter solenoid and got it to turn over. A guy a the local service shop said my solenoid was...

How’d you do this test? Guy a a local shop that works on 2-strokes told me to put power to the ski then press the start button without the DESS key inserted. He said if you get a red light on the dash then the start button isn’t the issue.

Wow! I think I’m literally having the same issue with my ‘99 GTX LTD. I installed a brand new solenoid and as soon as it got power the ski started cranking. No DESS key or start button pressed.
