    Since you are dealing with a direct drive, check for obstacles in the drive line. Check for weeds in the intake and see if axel will turn over the engine. Good luck.

    Found the steering gear broken inside. Someone really forced the wheel to turn and broke the secondary (short vertical) shaft. Of course the steering cable was rusted together inside so the cable wasn't going to move. Now need source for new gear?

    I went with the pop rivets. They are large head flat black 3/16" diameter by 3/4" grip. I found them at "brykeracing.com. They are about $4 per box of 50 and they have about any color. Shipping is like $4 per pound (2 each 50 unit packs are under a pound). Good luck.

    Answered my own question when I when I drilled out the pop rivets - either would probably work. The rivets or darts secure to hard plastic portion of seat cushions.

    Manual shows 3/16 pop rivets but current part number is for plastic darts. Are these interchangeable? What would be the least expensive source for the darts if they are the best to use. Thanks in advance. Ron
