    Load Star tire "not good"?

Several years ago I upgraded my Shorelandr' trailer to use radial tires; I bought some nice alloy wheels with tires mounted on them, load range E. Taking the machines (double trailer) to the lake I had a noticeable vibration and I could see the port side tire was bouncing significantly. Got to...

speedometer suddenly quit working (2000 RX)

Not at home at the moment to get my Service manual out...so just curious what common causes can make a speedometer quit working suddenly? Yesterday it was working, today it isn't. I know they aren't accurate and all that, but I am extremely fond of all the 'stuff' working on my machines...I...

anyone add a battery cut-off switch?

I always disconnect my battery leads from the machine when I put the trickle charger/maintainer on, as there seems to be much agreement to NOT even have a maintainer connected with the battery leads connected to the machine. So with this in mind, for the sake of convenience it would be nice to...

    start button cover replacement

Does anyone make a GOOD replacement cover that is nice and pliable for these switches? I've replaced both my 2000 RX and my wife's 1997 GTI a couple of times now with ones I got from Amazon, but after a season or two the plastic loses its elasticity...especially when it's cold.

    fuel locked

Got my 2000 RX back together after the carb rebuild...pulled the choke, started cranking it, and it turned over many times then knocked a bit, so I pulled the plugs, turned it over and the cylinders were FULL of fuel, I mean...gas went everywhere. Now I am questioning if I just over-choked it...

951 accelerator pump question after carb rebuild

So I finished up the carb rebuild, tested everything per the manual and the great write-ups on this forum. I ran some fuel into the mag side carb inlet and expected to be able to see the accelerator pump squirt, but I don't see anything. Should I be able to?

    2000 RX air silencer removal...

Ok, it has been several years since I did this last and I have been trying for two hours to get the dang airbox out of my 2000 RX. What am I missing? The repair manual simply says to remove it by "rotating"...but it keeps hitting on various things...

    2000 RX with 951 -bogs

Getting ready to do the full carb rebuild on my RX as it has become nearly undriveable; bogs down when I hit the throttle. Runs like a raped-ape at full throttle. I'd replaced the selector switch and all the hoses years ago, even went to the trouble to take off the intake manifold and replace...

Anyone have a picture of this part, '97 GTI?

http://www.seadoopartsnation.com/oemparts/a/sea/500d8cdaf8700209082586c9/reverse-gti So the last time we rode, my wife's GTI would occasionally lose forward momentum, it acted as if it was being put into neutral. Kind of came and went. Upon investigation after returning home, I noticed that...

Dock attendant put 20 gallons of gas in my hull instead of the tank...

Whilst on vacation, my wife and I pulled into a local marina for gas, me on my RX and she on her GTI. Both machines were about half empty so I figured it'd take around 15 gallons of fuel to fill them both. I was on one side of the pump and my wife on the other, and I couldn't really see her...

2000 RX - bog after extended idling

Last time out riding I idled up a long cove, looking for a friend who was supposed to meet me. The machine putted along just fine for the 4 or 5 minutes it took heading into the cove at no-wake speed, but I noticed that when I gave it much of any throttle, it would kind of bog and try to die...

    fuel baffle question

I ordered new fuel baffles for my machines. The part numbers for both have been superseded. On the '97 GTI, the old number was 275500318, and the new number is 275500470. The 'vent' and 'return' are backwards between the two. I carefully labeled the lines as I took them off based on the...

fuel gauges not working; '97 GTI, 2000 RX

As I posted earlier, the machines ran good; no complaints. I did realize both of the fuel gauges don't work, though. However, there seems to be a host of posts about non-working fuel gauges here in the forum, plus I assume the Service Manuals will have trouble-shooting and fixes for them.

first ride. And a mystery hose.

So my wife and I took the '97 GTI and 2000 RX that we bought back in February out for their first rides today. Everything went flawless, the machines ran perfectly. I was a little concerned that the tell-tale/pee hole on my wife's '97 wasn't really "peeing" much, especially not compared to the...

oily exhaust residue - anything to worry about?

Noticed this oily residue from the exhaust on the '97 GTI. Seems to be a water-oil mix. Normal? I've not had it hooked to a hose or anything, just ran it for 15 seconds or so a few times. Maybe the previous owner didn't do a good job of blowing out the water from the exhaust?

video of my '97 GTI idling...and fogging for mosquitos!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyecOyxy69w&feature=youtu.be Is this a sign of the classic crankcase seal failure? Or maybe the P.O. has the wrong oil in it? This looks like my LawnBoy at full choke, lol!

Is there just ONE of the "#5" fuel filters on the carburetors?

Okay, I took the front carb apart far enough to get the little filter out...it was FILTHY! Is there one in the other carb? The Service Manual doesn't seem to indicate it... Thanks!

951 engine - cleaning carburetor filters - rebuild kit required?

Maybe a dumb question but hey, what the heck...anyway...can one take the carbs apart and clean the little filters and then put them back together without a rebuild kit? One would ASSUME the seals and things won't ever...seal...again, but I am not sure about that. If kits are needed, who...

changed out the TEMPO fuel lines...but they were perfect.

Maybe the 2000 year versions were a better/different composition or construction? Every single line was in good shape. Perhaps a little less flexible on the ends, but no "green goo". These were original lines with the Oetiker clamps (well...I assume original lines, anyway). So my hands are...
