    Parts Seadoo GSI For Sale

I have a 1997 Seadoo that I bought used and nearly completely rebuilt it only to find out the hull is cracked on the bottom. As I have developed some severe health problems, I have decided just to sell off the thing, either in total or parts. It has all new switches, a newly rebuilt jet pump...

    Seadoo saga

I'm feeling pretty foolish today after suffering the latest sage on my Seadoo project. After having the jet pump rebuilt, carb gone through, new starter, plugs, fuel selector, all the bellows seals, etc. I couldn't get the thing to run without cutting out at a higher throttle. Before resigning...

    1997 GSI Compression spec

What is the specification for compression on a 1997 GSI 717 motor. I'm getting 90 lb max and I am sure that is too low. Before I get too far in the weeds chasing down a higher speed ignition or fuel problem I suppose I should qualify the motor itself is sound.

Still chasing high RPM cutting out

I thought I had my 1997 Seadoo GSI performance problems resolved. I found my charging voltage was too high and replaced the regulator/rectifier which cured that. However, it still has issues with loosing power upon acceleration and it's a definite missing out and not a surge. The new analog tach...

Water leak GSI 717 Exhaust Muffler

I finally got my 1997 GSI ready to fire up after many months of a rebuilding project. Much to my chagrin, there is a water leak on the exhaust muffler (I didn't know it was called that) right above the front stator cover. As I went shopping on ebay for the part, I came across this pre=owned for...

Oil pressure or oil level sensor?

On my 1997 Seadoo GSI, it has an odd looking switch or sensor in the tank that appears to have a roller on the bottom. I was wondering how that works as I am converting the OEM (broken) Digital display gauge to two marine analog gauges. One has an oil pressure meter which I would like to use but...

    Driveshaft stoppers necessary

Pursuant to my previous post, I see the driveshaft on each end of the 1997 GSI has two rubber stoppers. One was loose and had become deformed and was blocking the shaft from going all the way into the rear of the PTO causing a lockup when the jet pump was tightened up. My question is are these...

    Have left over boot/seal(?)

After re-assembling everything in my 1997 GSI, a year long project, much to my chagrin I have a small boot/seal part left over that I didn't replace. Could anyone help me identify what this part is? Pics attached.

    Lock up mystery

Getting near the end of my ground up 1997 GSI rebuild. Was going to have the 717 motor rebuilt but a spin over before I removed it indicated 150 compression in each cylinder so I left it, concentrating on everything else including having the jet pump rebuilt. Got it back, installed it along with...

    Eliminate oil tank

I’m looking to eliminate the oil tank and oil pump system on my 1997 GSI 717 and just pre-mix my fuel. Since the oil pressure is also used to pump fuel to the carb, how does that work?

    Water box/muffler drain

As part of the complete baseline rebuild of my 1997 Seadoo GSI, I wonder if anything needs to be done with or to the muffler, which I believe is also referred to as the water box. I have no reason to think it has anything wrong with it but wonder if it would not collect water over time and need...

    Fuel baffle pickup snafu

I'm replacing the fuel baffle pickup on my 1997 Seadoo GSI. I marked all the hoses with tape before removing but didn't pay close enough attention to the location of the hose spouts on the unit itself and now I have little clue how it goes back in. If I knew which way the sensor wires pointed I...

    New driveshaft bellows weak?

I have purchased a new driveshaft bellows kit off ebay. The tension on the new one seems to be quite a bit less than the old one. I saw a youtube somewhere that indicates this tension against the carbon seal and stainless steel bushing is critical. Thinking about just retaining the old one. Any...

    Temp and oil sensor conversion

I am doing a baseline rebuild on my 1997 Seadoo GSI 717. As my factory digital gauge is bad and nearly impossible to find for these rare GSIs, I would like to just install some new analog gauges and wire them up, i.e. by-passing the MPEC. This engine has a temperature sensor on top of the head...

    Fuel pickup removal

I have tested my 1997 Seadoo GSI fuel pickup and the gauge sender appears to be bad. My question is how to remove and replace it. I have taken everything loose from the fuel tank and moved it as far forward as I can get it and the sender will not come all the way out as the top of it is blocked...

    Roller part mystery

I am doing a re=assembly on my 1997 Seadoo GSI and I ran across this part which has me mystefied as I don't know what it is, does, or hooks up to. It has a hose running from the block under the exhaust manifold to it and has some sort of two wire sensor in it but the one end is a bland that...

    GSI gauges

I have a 1997 Seadoo GSI with an inoperative multi=purpose gauge. I has two holes in the "dash", one with the gauge and one just plugged. Apparently, the gauge on this model GSI is proprietary and almost impossible to find. I hate to spend big bucks on a used one even if works for awhile. I was...

    Correct carb hose routing?

I'm guilty of tearing down my old project Seadoo, letting it sit all winter, and now forget exactly how some of the reassembly is done. The 97 GSI has a single carb and has three outlets for hoses opposite the linkage side. I have figured out that two are the feed from the fuel tank and a return...

    Jet Pump Rebuild Service?

Is there anyone or firm around that will rebuild a Seadoo jet pump if I send them my old one?

    Hose connections

Have my 1997 GSI I received in parts. Everything going back together and I have a few spouts where certain hoses go I cannot figure out. I know the mail fuel lone from the tank goes to one carb outlet but which one? There is a larger capped hose connection on the oil pump assembly below the carb...
