My tach reads low when on the throttle then zero when off the throttle. It has an internal crack on the clear plastic face and I see some condensation on the inside of the clear plastic face. Any ideas why it isn't working? Worked perfectly until this year - I'm assuming it's a condensation...

What makes it even more confusing is my '94 XP is all original. It came with the 071 and as for gauges has fuel/oil and tach, no speedo. So based on whats been said, if I install the 305 everything should the same as the 071 correct?

Any way to test if I've damaged it??? Would this be a simple diode swap OR a new MPEM if it indeed dies out.

Starts up and runs fine. Just about gave me a heartattack when I read online the issues of jump starting it. I will NEVER jump it again!!! Someone was looking out for me that day!!! Thanks for putting my mind at ease. It was gonna be a longer winter worrying about it.

OPPS, jumped my ski with a running truck (94 XP). Didn't seem to affect it at all. Is there anything I can test to see if I damaged anything - testing the MPEM seems a bit beyond me. Haven't had a ski in 15 yrs so forgot all about the non-jumping thing. Live you learn I guess but all seems...
