oil light on even though plenty of oil

OK. The rebuid is happening next week, so I've got to fix the oil tank leak. It's the type of plastic tank that nothing seems to stick to, maybe oil has penetrated into the plastic? Other than replacing the tank, is there anything out there that works?

Causes of low compression, top end rebuild.

My brain is not functioning left to right this morning. The mechanic is coming to rebuild the left engine.

Causes of low compression, top end rebuild.

Thanks for the response. My gauge is brand new, and it was the first time I used it. I will have to return it.

Causes of low compression, top end rebuild.

You are absolutely right. I had a small engine mobile repair mechanic come over and test with his old tried and true compression gauge. Three of the four cylinders were over 125 psi. The forth cylinder was at 35 psi. He is coming back Monday to rebuild the top end of the right engine.

2001 Seadoo Challenger 2000 engine compartment lift struts

I bought them for my 1997 Speedster. They should be the same. Check the length of your existing struts.

Causes of low compression, top end rebuild.

Briefly, 1997 Speedster with twin Rotax 717. My first boat, purchased last fall. Seemed to be running fine. Oil light came on. Left engine running fine. Right engine died, sputtered trying to restart, and died without being able to restart since. Used the right engine to return to the boat...

Could you look at my "oil" related thread and possibly give me some ideas?

Thanks. I just figured it out, again. At over 70, my memory is getting bad.

oil light on even though plenty of oil

Ok. The left engine turns over, but still won't start. I did a compression test and accidentally posted it on someone else's thread. Oops. The left engine rear cylinder was 20 psi, front 70 psi. The right engine was 80 psi for both cylinders. Does that mean a top-end rebuild, or what else...

I'll try to start a new thread. Sorry for the confusion.

    out of oil

Sorry, but I am not very "expert" on finding where you start new threads. I've started a couple, but can't remember how I did it.

    out of oil

I did a compression test on each cylinder on each engine. I removed one spark plug at a time, attached my compression tester, and recorded the psi as follows: Left engine (turns over but does not start) rear cylinder 20 psi front cylinder 70 psi Right engine (starts and runs) rear...

    1997 Seadoo speedster

You are right about charging the battery; however, the "trickle" chargers are unable to spike or charge the battery. They are designed to keep an already fully charged battery from discharging, without having to remove or disconnect the battery.

    1997 Seadoo speedster

After recharging or replacing the battery, you can put a trickle charger on the battery, without having to disconnect the battery.

    1997 Seadoo speedster

The handle under the steering wheel is to open the weed gates that cover the water jet inlets. As to the three handles to the right, the left handle is neutral, forward, and reverse. The middle handle is the throttle control for the left engine. The right handle is the throttle control for the...

    1997 Seadoo speedster

If it is the key fob not making proper contact, you will not be able to start either engine, unless you replace or bypass the key fob. I bought my 1997 Speedster that someone had done a bypass key fob bypass. I was not be able to turn the engines off, without choking them out. I repaired the...

oil light on even though plenty of oil

Back again. After "plastic welding" the oil tank, it still leaks a little. I will have to remove and reseal.

    2005 Sportster LE Oil Tank

I used JB Weld clear epoxy, but it did not adhere at all. Perhaps the "Plastic Weld" would stick to the oil tank.
