    Rebuilding a 951/947

2 stroke crankshafts are no longer available from BRP. They have been discontinued for a while and stock seems to have dried up. I've called multiple dealers across the country and all said the same thing on both 951 and 787 cranks. WSM is sold out of 951 cranks for another couple months as well

    1995 Seadoo XP 720 vs. 1996 Seadoo XP 800

Is it a yellow top deck and black bottom? If so, thats a 99 SPX. If its in good condition then I would probably trade a 95XP720 and older small motor ski for it.

    Repair Quote

Holy crap those prices are high. I used to charge $300 to do carb rebuilds and $120 of that is parts cost. Fuel lines cost about $25 and take an hour. Oil lines are super easy and quick to change once carbs are off.

    951 break in problems

Did you pressure test the motor before and after the top end rebuild?

97 787 GTX pulse nipple came out

You can try pressing a new one in with some sealant or jb weld. Just dont want an air leak there or you'll be running lean.

97 787 GTX pulse nipple came out

Could tap it NPT and add a universal fitting. Might be able to find a press in replacement as well but Id be worried about it not sealing properly since the orginal was damaged

    4 Stroke XPL?

IMO the 4stroke swap would only be worth the time and money if you are going to be boosted. According to google, the NA Rotax 155 weighs nearly 180 lbs more than the 951. I would imagine its no faster, possibly slower, than the 951 motor already in the ski.

    4 Stroke XPL?

Would be an awesome ski but it is a lot of work i'd imagine. His XPL and X4 are really nice

    Seadoo 951 x4 build

Looks like you are off to a good start. Are you going to taper the 140mm pump extension to the 155mm pump or modify the 155 shoe to fit the XP hull?

    1998 Speedster Twin 787's

The pumps are fairly easy to remove. Take off the reverse bucket and all steering / VTS linkage. Then you can remove the 4 nuts securing the pump to the hull/shoe. Make sure to remove the cooling lines on inside of hull if the pump has thru hull fittings. I believe your model has a shoe though...

    1998 Speedster Twin 787's

Did you not pull the pump when you installed the new engine? The new motor has to be properly aligned. Also, I'm sure you rebuilt your carbs with new oem parts before running that new motor. Dont want to burn it up right off the bat

    Hump Seats

No. There is more material in the hump area than on a regular seat. You cannot just shave a non hump seat, you have to add foam in the hump. Thats why Matt suggested gluing a piece of foam to a regular seat.
