    96 Xp starting issues

Nothing. I've had some fat fuks on my X4 skis before and they sit low as hell but no issues running. This will cause hard starting in the water. Measure the RV clearance and see if its within spec.

    97 SPX waterbox identification

The 97+ baffle is supposed to not break as easy as the 96 and prior. I haven’t cut either open to know the difference though. Never heard of an RPM gain. That would come from different water metering.

MPEM swap? has anyone had luck swapping MPEM (challenger 1997)

You can run a ski MPEM but it probably requires rewiring some stuff. I remember someone used to make a conversion harness back in the day.

    97 SPX waterbox identification

The 97 box is white vs purple in 96 if it has not been painted.

    1993 Seadoo XP PTO

No. I think the old skis you have to remove the RV cover when removing the carbs.

    1993 Seadoo XP PTO

should be easy with the spark plugs removed. If not, remove jet pump and try again.

    96 xp 3k rpm limit, 5mph max

Definitely sounds like a bad voltage regular. Unplugging it shouldn't make the ski run worse either. I'm thinking its something electrical going on.

Turning it clockwise is tightening it so it should bottom out and start to spin the crankshaft.

Carbon fiber hood for 98 spx 800?

There's a guy in Thailand that's been making them in all different styles. Can't remember his name but you can find him on the X4 racing facebook group. Quite a few people have bought from him. Takes a couple weeks and cost around $300 I think I read.

Also, check the 2 one way valves on the fuel tank vent line and make sure they are working properly.

1999 Sea-Doo GTX limited fuel delivery

Fuel pump is on the carb. The baffle is just a pick up. Need to rebuild carbs and replace all fuel lines.

Time to rebuild the fuel system.

    Need a new Crank?

I would go WSM over SBT probably. Best bet is to send your OEM crank to a reputable race shop to be rebuilt. There's a ton out there just do your research before sending.

    951 carbs

If you are taking about the big black air box then yes you need that or you will need to retune the carbs.

    Yellow 587 rotary valve oiling

Sounds like a fun project. The RV lines need to be looped and filled with oil like the above post says. If you sheared the brass RV gear, its best to tear down the engine to clean and inspect everything.
