The 96 boats have 2 carbs each per engine while the 97 boats have a single carb per engine. The carb specs are most likely different.

I have the Solas X props on my 96 Speedster, but they are (SD-SC-X) 16-23. They work pretty good for getting out of the hole (pulling skier up) and top speed, but always go with Dr. Honda.

We got our 96 Speedster in 98 and have used it in fresh and salt every year since. Still original engines, just well serviced. Kids know d!ck about anything.

That barrel keeper on the throttle lever looks more robust than the one on my 96 Speedster.

4 fittings on the pickup. 1 fitting for the main gas pickup. 1 fitting for reserve gas pickup. 2 fittings for return lines from each engine. The pickup itself has markings for each fitting (main, res, vent, ret). Obviously, some are repurposed, but they are all used.

You COULD possibly test the carbs (both at the same time) inlet chambers (the chamber just before the fuel inlet needle) by seeing if the return line fitting can hold pressure back to the carbs. You wouldn't be testing pop off pressure, just whether the needles would hold pressure for a short...

Oh, if somebody is restoring their injection setup, I have 2 injector cables in very good condition. They are the 270 000 161 cables for most twin carb setups. My boat uses the 270 000 211 cables, so the 161 cables are available.
