    Newbe here.

What are you looking to replace? All 717 motors are essentially the same, but different models used different intakes. If you are looking to replace engine parts on your '95 with parts from a '96 XP, they won't interchange. The '96 has the 787 motor

1999 Sea Doo Challenger 1800 1 Engine Wont Start

Since you have one good running motor, you have all the parts you need to determine what the issue is before randomly throwing new parts at it. Try swapping the starter solenoid from the other motor and see if you have the same issue. And make sure the plug connection on the solenoid is not...

Unknow plastic object wrapped around impeller

The OEM style wear ring is a two piece, and what I would replace with. The delrin wear rings are one piece, but I've not had good luck with the fit on those. Either too loose in the pump housing, or too large of a gap between impeller and ring. The holes serve no purpose, and are probably just...

‘99 speedster single beep won’t start

Make sure you didn't bump the shift lever out of neutral. Been awhile since I've done it, but believe it gives one beep when in gear and attempting to start

Unknow plastic object wrapped around impeller

That's the inner plastic sleeve of the wear ring that has let loose from the white outer shell. You need a new wear ring

1997 challenger single 787 , Replacing my MPEM with a MSD ignition . has any one done this ?

Haven't personally done it, but some good info in this thread on a twin engine boat https://www.seadooforum.com/threads/bypassing-1999-challenger-1800-mpem.85552/

    94 speedster scupper valve issues

All of my 14' Seadoo boats have had this style scupper. Even when they are new they still seem to seep a bit of water, so I use a ProGrip plug in the cockpit drain when the boat is just floating. Works great

2 stroke oil in head will not turn over without plugs out

Your inner crank seals are leaking. Crank it over without the plugs until it stops spraying oil. Throw new plugs in and see if it will fire. If it does, it will smoke like crazy.

    96 XP backfiring

A backfire through the carbs is usually a timing issue. Definitely need to verify RV timing

Hose lying free in bottom of 1996 GTS

Battery vent hose. If you have a sealed battery, just tuck it out of the way

Replacing my 180 challenger decals and can't decide on these two..

Don't care for the first one. Like you said, it just looks dull. I'd search out someone local, and see what unique designs they can come up with. I've got a local sign guy that has designed some awesome stuff for me. For $250, I'd think you can come up with something that looks better, and makes...

    1996 GTI 717 CRANKSHAFT SEAL

Just break down and buy the PTO tool. It is also used to remove the impeller, so definitely worth the small investment. With the cylinders already removed, you've made it much more difficult to remove the fly wheel and PTO. If the cylinders were still on, some rope down the plug hole keeps...

Full Bore no engine year later

Take your money and parts and be done with this joker. Don't second guess yourself about demanding your stuff back. Only after calling him out on social media, your motor was miraculously scheduled for build this week. I call bullshit! How many motors were sent in after yours, finished and...

    New to PWC and SeaDoo

Check if the original grey fuel lines have been replaced with new black fuel lines. If they are the original lines, I wouldn't ride either until they are replaced and the carbs are rebuilt. You run the risk of ruining your motors

1997 gtx. Tips after sitting for years?

First thing you need to do is test compression with another gauge. Perfect is 150psi. If it's honestly 100psi, your motor needs a rebuild. Hoping your gauge is inaccurate

96 sportster feels like half rpm and wont get on plane

Unhook the red wire from the rectifier and see if you gain rpms. Very common for them to go bad, and can create full throttle issues

    1996 Speedster Cavitation issue??

Yes it can. I think more so on the boats than the skis because of the extra weight you're trying to push.

    1996 Speedster Cavitation issue??

I'd sharpen up the leading edges of the impellers also. Especially the port side, it looks pretty dinged up

    95 spx Starter removal

It's a PITA, but it can be done. You're basically working blind and doing it all by feel.

    1996 GSX won’t start.

The wrong key will make one beep. The gauges will light, but immediately turn off. I would guess that you have the correct key and your beeper is bad if your gauges stay lit. Since your start button tested good, my guess is your starter solenoid is junk. Can't remember if the '96 GSX has the...
