    Replacement Rave Housing

It might be a couple weeks before I get a chance to measure the housings to determine best way to proceed. Will reply back when I get those readings. Thanks.

    Replacement Rave Housing

etemplet, Can you tell me what this set is in the first picture? Found it in my dad's garage after he died. He was not a mechanic or machinst, just a pack rat so don't know why he would have had it. Best I could figure out is that the rods all seem to attach together for measuring depth of...

    Replacement Rave Housing

yes please. How will you measure, do you have a bore gauge or something? I wonder if I can rent something from an auto parts store to measure mine.

    Replacement Rave Housing

Yea, I was wondering about that. @Minnetonka4me or someone else who parts out skis, may have a used set, but it's hard to say if a used set is going to be more or less worn than my current set. And I don't know if my problem is housing or rave shaft wear or probably a combination of both...

    Replacement Rave Housing

I usually do, but can't say that I always keep strict track of Mag vs PTO when I take them off to clean, so mine may have been intermingled at some point. When I had them off in the spring I had a couple spare Raves so tried to pick the ones with the best looking shafts. All mine have...

    Replacement Rave Housing

yea I saw he mentioned he was going to try that. @etemplet was that successful? Could I ship you 4 housings off my skis to do?

    Replacement Rave Housing

I melted a plastic rave exhaust valve in 2 hours use (not the first one to melt, usually just the threads disappear) I have new o-rings installed so that's not the issue. There seems to be excessive play if I wiggle the rave so I'm assuming the housing and/or valve stem are worn but every...

    Confusing Issue

I had a bad solenoid while at lake about 10 years ago. Ran to Lowes and got a lawn tractor solenoid for $12 and stuck it in. Been working fine ever since. Just sayin...

    Welch Plug Leak

Can you clarify "the 24 hour JB weld". Both of these say they are the "Original Cold Weld" formula that cures in 15-24 hours. I'm assuming this is what you are referring to? thanks.

    Welch Plug Leak

Well, it took 26 years, but one of my welch plugs is leaking - 3 small holes. My (64 year old) back objects to removing the pipe to have it welded, so I'm going to JB Weld it. Is the best option, the JB Weld SteelStik? I see some people JB Weld a quarter or piece of aluminum over the plug...

    95' XP nonlinear acceleration

Sorry, assumed you had the 787 model since the raves open at that same range. When mine are running optimally, it feels like my arms are being jerked out of the shoulder socket!

    95' XP nonlinear acceleration

The RAVE valves open around 4500 RPM giving you the burst in power.

98 GSX Limited suddenly died, no electrical power

Similiar thing happened to me years ago. There is a bolt in the rear e-box that holds multiple ground wires that just screws into plastic. Check if that came loose. Luckily I diagnosed mine while still on the water and didn't have to swim the ski back to shore.

There is a needle valve in the water regulator that could be blocked with sand.

    1997 Gsx Rave Valve Help

I've had a few plastic caps that the threads stripped out on. I think it's usually hot exhaust leaking past a bad o-ring or the rave housing/rave stem have worn. Rather than purchase new plastic caps, I'm currently doing an experiment. I cleaned up the inside where the threads are stripped...
