    97 GTS won’t run

One thing to try is spray a little carb cleaner/brake cleaner around the intake mount to see if you get a raise in rpm, just make sure it isn't near the carb opening. It isn't good for the motor though, no oils in fluid, so don't do it much. You can also use a smoke machine but that is harder...

    97 GTS won’t run

If you are having to keep it running with the choke then you are not getting enough gas or too much air in normal operating mode... Did you do a leak test on carbs? also check the gasket between carb and intake, make sure it is on and tight.

    Seadoo gtx 1996 need help

Hopefully you ordered an OEM solenoid, if not it is a crap shoot on whether it is good or not. So don't rule out a bad NEW solenoid, test it and also verify your battery is good by load testing it, if you haven't already.

dry spark plug xp wont start

Don't boost it with a car at all, you can damage the MPEM, ie brain of the ski. Use a low amperage battery tender if you need too, or take it out of the ski. Glad you found the culprit, I would use the OEM kit.

dry spark plug xp wont start

Since you didn't replace the gaskets and stuff on the carb when you took it a part I would do a pressure test to verify it is still good. I personally would redo it with a OEM rebuild kit. Can you describe what it is doing...and not starting. Is is cranking over but not running, Does it...

    Won’t start

Your are probably right but I have seen new batteries be bad...its an easy thing to get tested and I would want to rule it out, while you are hunting down the issue, plus it is cheaper than buying a starter!

2000 Seadoo LRV won’t stay running

My advise is to leave the high and low at factory and adjust your idle screw to around 3000 RPMS out of the water Just don't run it more than 30 to 40 secs at a time, allow for cool down if you are slow at it. Once you have it at 3000 RPMs then you can put it in the water and tweak it to the...

    Check valve clarification

A quick check I do in this case is blow through it to find which way allows flow.

    Won’t start

Also, if you didn't buy an OEM unit , the solenoid could be bad out the box! I bought two off market ones before I got a used OEM. One of them caused my engine to keep turning the starter over no matter what, I had to pull battery!! There is an Ohms check you can do on it to verify it is good.

    1998 GTX: Your Thoughts ?

I have a 98 GTX limited and it is a great ski. Mine sat for nine years and after I fixed the rat damage, a little tweaking, and did the maintenance on it, she fired right up and has given me no issues for the last 1 1/2 to 2 years. I will say the engine only had about 30 hrs on it when it was...

No start in water 02 GTI le

what are your settings on the carb for low and high speed adjusters? Have you tried adjusting the idle screw, it may be too low? You should be between 2800 and 3000 RPM out of the water. I am assuming you use chock to start it. Does it stay running with choke on? You said you were taking on...

    MPEM

The best option would be to get a used MPEM, the aftermarket units are hit and miss...I have only seen a few that have got them working, most don't. I think the ones that work are on the less sophisticated older skis....just my opinion. There is a company on here that tests and has a few used...

UPDATE!! (Post #43) - 1997 XP time capsule - please step inside

    1. I looked in my parts manual (free online to DL) and it had the part number for the flush kit, I don't have your model. Get the parts manual and it will be in there. You can also just look up your model with flush kit on eBay, they are easy to find. But remember the hose kit will keep the...

UPDATE!! (Post #43) - 1997 XP time capsule - please step inside

IMO, Burt is right do the compression to see what shape engine is in first then I would do all the maintenance per the schedule in the manual, ie filters, plugs, checks. Take your time and get OEM whenever possible. Don't throw parts at it, a lot of time it will just complicate matters. I...

    Hose questions from a rookie

I am not familiar with the DI setup but something I have done while rebuilding my ski is get the parts manual, it has diagrams and will show you where things connect and identify the parts they connect to. Its simple way of locating and IDing things quickly. You can DL them free online.

2001 GS water leaking in hull while flushing

Just a friendly suggestions, I wouldn't run the ski for that long on a hose. Nothing is cooling the "driveline" and it can and will get really hot and may break on you. The hose is for quick flushing and diagnostics in short increments.
