Why it cranks like that? 97 gtx

New to me ski. It cranks like something is stuck, like metal on metal banging sound, see

If I remove plugs, I can turn the rear flywheel fairly easily, nothing stuck. And if put premixed into plug holes, it fires up. But after shutoff and try to restart, the banging is back.

Sounds like either a bad battery or bad starter to me

Could be the cables I chased that same thing a couple years ago.
Look for corrosion on the ends it gets under the shrink wrap after 25+ years of a marine environment.

I had extended the pos and neg cables temporarily by about 18" to make my life easier, I guess it didn't like that. Once I removed that, it cranks just fine.
