The throttle control handle literally snapped in half and I can't get the part anywhere. Any advice would be most appreciated.

It appears to be the same throttle controls as the Volvo Penta Xact. My handle is cracked as well and they don't appear to sell replacement handles (not that that would fix your problem), so the only option is a new control.
I'd keep the trim block off plate from your current handle in case you wanted to swap it out on the new controls.
New controls are roughly $350. Give or take a few bucks.

Mine just cracked.
Did you ever get rid of that part - mine just broke off
Did you ever get this sorted - mine has broken at the screw so will buy the handle from you?

Didn’t do the work myself so sadly I cannot assist but recommend you purchase the replacement handle that was recommended to me. You will need it sooner than later. Money well spent. Let me know if you can’t see the link.

I have the same issues as the others here, a broken handle. Is the Volvo Penta control unit a direct replacement or modifications required. I plan on using just the handle if it will fit the gear that the older handle uses. Any help will be appreciated. Thank You FYI 2008 SeaDoo Utopia 205 SE 430 HP

I actually purchased the whole assy. mentioned above (Volvo Penta 3888316) from Pro Pride Marine for $366.00 with free shipping and had the local SeaDoo Yamaha Dealer install it. It didn't work, the Tech said it had roughly 3/4 forward throttle and no reverse. I asked him if he tried just swapping the handle and he said he did but it was different also. Cost me $270 X 2 plus the price of the new control. I am not 100% sure he tried swapping handles so I am going to take a look at it today just to make sure. Thanks for your reply.

Having a similar problem with mine in Australia, did you manage to get a workaround to replace the handle? Was hoping, like you, the handle should be a straight swap and leave the mech the same. Any luck?

A freind who is a mchinist, mad this cutom colllar which got me back working again. My plastic handle was only partly broken, so there was a little meat left to re-inforce. I also now hold the stick lower to put less stress when shifting/throttling.

How did you make out with swapping the handle/lever? Mine snapped and this is the best option I've found so far. Would like to know if it's worth buy the Volvo controller.

Hi I have an 08 Utopia 205 and my control handle also is broken which one of the controls on west marine will work? There are a few that look similar

I just sent that Volvo one to the mechanic I will let you know when its repaired. If not I was wondering if anyone was able to get theirs fixed

would the control handle from a newer Scarab or Vortex work? i think they look different, but they should work just the same, if they can be properly mounted to a seadoo boat?

Hi everyone, I joined just so I could follow up on this thread. Everyone wanted answers and wasn't getting any. 
We bought a 2006 Utopia 205 SE a couple weeks ago and it had very sticky throttle and reverse cables. Before we could get it lubed, we proceeded to snap the lever in half out on the lake (trying to get it to go forward). We got a tow in ok, and then got to searching and found this thread. When our mechanic said they couldn't fix the lever, we took a chance and ordered the Volvo Penta 3888316 assembly from Amazon (which, btw, are about $500 now!) We got ours from seller Austral International Marine, which arrived very promptly.
Our mechanic was able to swap out just the lever part, but he had to take the OEM assembly apart and replace the black tube with it (shown in pic) with the new Volvo one (the Volvo has a different "tube" assembly). We did not need the backplate or anything else from the Volvo. It took maybe an hour for them to swap it out, and it cost us like $80. He also lubed the cables, and they are much much better too (we did not replace them).
It works just fine! Just make sure you have your mechanic start the boat in front of you to show it works before you head to the lake. We didn't have any issues with not reaching full throttle - no problem achieving 60 mph. The only difference is you have to push the lever a bit farther forward than the original to get max speed. This also fixed the boat not being in true neutral at the dock. With the original setup, it would start moving forward at the dock when the engines were started. Now it moves slightly back, which we like much more.
Total cost $580.
