    2002 gtx di starting issue

I've found that Candoo and Buds rarely fix these skis. Good old fashion troubleshooting gets it done. I agree, fuel pressure and compression is the first things that need to be checked. Also make sure your air pump lines are connected and there are no leaks. Believe it or not I've found...

    Trouble starting 2000 gtx

I agree... compression is the first thing I always check. I they don't start on the trailer they sure ain't starting in the water. LOL

    Trouble starting 2000 gtx

Check your fuel lines and make sure they are NOT too soft or easily compressed. I fought a ski that had trouble starting. Some fuel lines were new so I didn't replace them. HERE is the problem... When the fuel pump strokes the line collapses and the pump doesn't move any liquid. Remember how...

1992 sea doo xp dies while running

Remove the fuel baffle and poke some bigger holes in the screen. I fought 2 skis with this problem. I guess the screen over the years gets corroded and the holes get smaller. My XP would die just like yours is doing depending on how long I held the throttle wide open. If I ran at half...

1996 SPI Used 587 Engine Swap (With Pics) - Options, Rebuild or Run?

Scratches are not a problem. Gouges that extend from port to port are a problem. That looks to be in good condition from what I can tell from the picture. You can pressure up the rotary valve cavity pretty easy from that point. Plug the outlet and put an air line on the inlet with a gauge...

1996 SPI Used 587 Engine Swap (With Pics) - Options, Rebuild or Run?

Inner crank seals are leaking. I wouldn't roll the dice. May as well fix it right and be one. You don't want to go that far and peice meal it. New or rebuilt crank. Here is a thought, you could ask the previous owner if he poured oil in the bottom end. If not, the inner crank seals are...

1996 SPI Used 587 Engine Swap (With Pics) - Options, Rebuild or Run?

I would remove the cylinders and look inside the bottom end, check the crankshaft. The top end is in rough shape so keeping any pieces parts out of the bottom is the goal. If the carb was off the engine, the crank probably looks the same as the top end but good inspection would reveal the...

    96 XP 787 electrical issues

YOu can run a lot of tests on the MPEM but they don't tell the whole story. When I troubleshoot these skis I don't look so much for the problem but find out "what isn't the problem." That is much easier to proove. LOL Too bad you don't live near me. I have complete gray boxes. Good Luck.

    96 XP 787 electrical issues

I thought I had trouble with the holdr relay on my 96 GTX. My hearing isn't very good but I could hear it when it pulled in if the shop was quiet. LOL If they don't pull in, you'll get nothing. You might have an internal issue on the MPEM. I probably have a spare.

    96 XP 787 electrical issues

As said above do those checks. I would add a check of the mag plug. Sometimes the wires and connectors inside the plug corrode. I've had this happen a number of times. Instead of powering up the battery, leave the battery connected and unplug and plug in the mag harness. Also, there is a...

Fuel leaks are not good. Don't ride it. Looks like an accelerator pump not connected to me. You need to look into the why. Good Luck !!

    1997 Seadoo GTX Rave Ports

I'd check for fuel injectors on the other side. LOL I'll assume he drilled a hole in the rave housing so the gas pressure up the bellows and open the rave or else the ski would not be running fine. I'd just cap the suction right at the rave housing and ride it. If it was working, your' good...

What attaches to these two ports on a 951 Mikuni carb. I’m stumped!

There is a terrific carb rebuild/repair thread on this forum.

I'm assuming you found the idle adjustment at the rear of the throttle body. I find lots of those are stuck, screws are broken off and such so beware. TPS reset is done by backing out the idle screw and allowing the butterfly to close completely in the carb barrel. Make sure the throttle...

That fuel regular was difficult for me to match. I order a regulator from a vendor and it ended up being a 42 psi. I think, I'm going from memory here, the regulator should be 48psi and hold it. Now.... I had a ski running fine with no fuel issues and the regulator bled down pretty quick to...

I've never really had an issue with fuel a year old or so but one can't be sure what's in the tank is good. Sometimes fuel degrades quickly so we need to be aware of that. A lot of people run 87 Octane.

You have to test your fuel pressure. Good that you are getting the injectors cleaned. Giving them throttle to start tells me you don't have the idle set correctly which means you'll have to reset the TPI. Did you replace your spark plugs? What is the quality of your fuel? Put some high...

    2003 XP/DI

Amen to that. I never trust a crank because you never know how many hours are on the engine or how it was treated. :D Only way to tell is disassembly and inspection. My point is that I wouldn't not "skip doing the top end" after disassembling the engine. Merry Christmas brother.

    2003 XP/DI

I believe a lot of that talk of replacing everything was just shops covering their azzes and making money and I will never cop to that methodology. This BS started in the mid 1970's with the two stroke motorcycles. To me you just test troubleshoot and replace/repair what isn't working as it...
