Looking to buy my first SeaDoo - 2004 GTI or 2002 GTX 155

A techie/mechanic-type might agree with you. Everyone else would go for the newer 4-stroke.

    A concern, somewhat shocking...

That's just appalling! You should insist on a replacement.

2002 Seadoo GTX or 2009 Seadoo GTI Please Help

If it comes back as clean, I'd be happy with that. I'd much rather have a 2009 GTI than a 2002 GTX! Those early GTX had all kinds of issues with the engine (which is likely why they changed it).

Mildew issues on seats and covers

Microbes from the foam? Try some bleach - gets it off mine no problem.

    Refinishing a pair of 2005 gtx's

I echo this sentiment if you're not absolutely certain the superchargers were rebuilt in the last couple of years.

    2005 Seadoo Speedster Compression

The supercharged engines usually run a lower compression but my 215SC runs between 140 and 150psi (depending on who's measuring it). As long as the cylinders are within ~10 psi of each other, this is usually considered good.

Just talking about the intercooler, nothing else.

Please help did i damage my sea doo ?

Not quite sure I follow. I thought the problem with the intercooler IS that the water inside freezes and expands and blows out the box(?)

    2007 GTX Limited 21 hours

    Absolutely! Goes without saying.

    2007 GTX Limited 21 hours

Yes, they both need the superchargers rebuilt. They are 15 years old and the supercharger bearing cages get brittle with age. Looking at $2000-$2500 for both.

Please help did i damage my sea doo ?

Yeah, unless you have a supercharged ski with an intercooler, you're usually fine.

    Want opinion on 2005 RXP.

You're looking at over $1000 to get the supercharger rebuilt. $500-$600 is if you do it yourself.

    Oil changes

I change the oil, filter and plugs every year (and I only go 10-20 hours a year, max). These engines are basically abused from the minute the key turns on (high rpms before the engine is completely warmed up, high rpms for every minute the engine is running). Only thing between you and...

Why so much GTX misinformation and flailing around?

Well, as usual, things aren't always what they seem. You can go to an "expert" mechanic and end up in worse shape than you started (this appears to be acutely problematic with Sea-Doo "experts" and dealers - just look at all the posts on this and the GreenHulk forum regarding folks who have...

    Seadoo Dealer Reviews

Well, someone's dropping the ball, BIG TIME! Sea-Doo, the dealers, the parts manufacturers.........

    Not getting to top speed

    What RPMs are you getting?
  19. sktn77a

Jet ski not reaching to speed

1st thing to do is change the plugs and top up with fresh (ethanol-free) gas. SC should be fine at 2 years and 80 hours unless it was defective to start with or incorrectly installed.

    Sea-Doos flying off the lot

That was a good deal (by todays standards)!
