    2009, 2010 GTI worth buying

The problem with purchasing older skis can be parts availability. BRP tends to discontinue parts making eBay your only source for used parts to keep them running. As with any watercraft purchase (in the used market) it depends on how the skis were maintained. Ask the owner some questions such...

2008 215 Wake -Winterize with without running the engine

Don't forget to check you jet pump. If there's water in the pump at those temps you'll be replacing the pump in the spring.

    HELP, NO CRANK

What was square 1. No crank,, or crank no start? Do you have 12 volts at the starter when you attempt to start? Never jump start a Sea-Doo ... unless you like changing those hard to find ECMs. See warning sticker on the hull .... if it's still there. Press set 5 times; which codes appear on...

What Oil for 2004 GTX Supercharged?

Mobile 1 5W/40. Since BRP had discontinued their synthetic blend, I contacted my trusted tribologist with the specs for the Mobil 1 to get his advice. I used Mobil 1 in my 2002s for years and never had an issue. BRP loves to hype their oil so they can sell you a gallon for $70.00.

2023 Explorer Pro 170. 69 hrs, oil consumption

Have you pulled the hose from the throttle body (TB) to inspect the TB inlet for traces of oil to confirm your suspicion?

    04 wake crank sensor issue

When I rebuilt my engine last year, I remember reading about checking the gap between the encoder wheel and the sensor (all of the tangs); did you do that step? Too wide of a gap will reduce the voltage signal since this is a variable reluctance sensor. Signal strength needs to be 500mv...

02 GTX 4tec voltage regulator location

Open the front hood and remove the panel under the steering column, the rectifier/regulator is located on the right side (as if sitting on the ski) above the fuel tank.

Docking and leaving in a slip

I'm not saying it. BRP states in the owner's manual not to leave your ski parked in the water.

Docking and leaving in a slip

Leaving it in the water? Big mistake. See your owner's manual.

    2020 GTX 230 not starting

Sounds like you have a fuel issue. Check your fuel pressure with a gauge. If the pressure is in spec, you'll want to check the injector control signal from the ECU.

    Silicone on the ride plate

I wouldn't worry about that. Sea-Doo uses about a gallon of RTV when the install the ride plates. I would be more worried about the damage to the gelcoat where you can see the fiberglass.

Any faults? Do you have diagnostic equipment?

    2002 SeaDoo GTI 4Tec ECU

As Reacher would say ... "Assumptions can kill." LOL. It is possible you do have a bad ECU, no doubt if the ECU is not producing a proper 5V reference voltage that is a problem. From a diagnostic standpoint, I would want to check all the ECU inputs and outputs in the SKI before I even send...

    2002 SeaDoo GTI 4Tec ECU

In my experience the on-board diagnostic system in the Ski (especially for a 2002) would fail do diagnose a faulty crank sensor. I don't have any experience with BUDS; my Can Doo can only read if there is a fault, it can't show a crank sensor waveform; you need a lab scope to see that. In the...

    2002 SeaDoo GTI 4Tec ECU

Well, you have to remember that the ECU needs inputs to control ignition timing. Inputs to the ECU include crankshaft position, and camshaft position sensors (to name just two). Some engines require cam and crank sensor inputs to run; the 1503 only needs the crankshaft position, but if the...

    2002 SeaDoo GTI 4Tec ECU

You said in your first post "misfires at all speeds." So, that means it runs, but misfires; which cylinder is misfiring? The ignition is a simple ground-side switched COP system. It's very easy to see if the ECM is providing coil control.

    Ignition Coil Set screw

That screw is an M6x20x1.0. As Reagan used to say: "Trust, but verify."

Never use oil additives! Trust the tribologist.

    Aftermarket Throttle Body

Weird. Do you happen to live in Destin, FL? I installed an aftermarket throttle body for a friend last season; it ran great. He sold the ski.
