Troubleshoot Fuel Delivery Problems : low revs, bogging, surging

That's a great tip on getting the fuel selector valve back into the hole. For some hull shapes, this is easy to reach by hand. But your string technique would certainly help those with more challenging hull shapes - or shorter arms. Glad to see this thread helped you out!

Anyone Have HydroTurf on 96' GSX?

I installed Hydroturf last year on a 96 GSX. It used to have purple Hydroturf which might have been trendy "back in the 90's", but I thought it looked quite out of date. Black looks a lot more modern (given the GSX's purple bumperline and sponsons).....black grips and a black insert in the...

    Restoring faded Handle bar cover

Try using Mr. Clean Magic Erasers and work in circles slightly dampened. This worked well for me on removing the white stuff from the rubberized cover.

    Sold my HX today :(

Today I watched someone drive away with my 1996 HX. :( After 16 years of ownership, I decided I had to face the music and sell a ski that I simply don't have time to take out.....or store properly anymore. The new owner is getting a boat that rivals the condition of many brand new...

    seadoo takeing on water

Hard to say. Was the boat full of water to begin with? This may sound like a silly question, but if the hull was full of water to begin with, that would be your starting point. Maybe too vigorous of a bath when washing it? again, sounds silly, but I have to ask! Carbon ring at the...

Cleaning mold off handle bar and grab bar- solved here

Don't forget to try the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. These have worked great for getting grubby stuff off vinyl. I also had good results with the plastics like the handlebar cover and the unpainted storage compartment lids. A more risky application is using Magic Erasers to remove paint...

    Battery

I bought a Battery Tender when I bought my 1996 Seadoo HX new. The original factory battery lasted 4 years. The only reason I had to replace the battery was because the Battery Tender died at the beginning of the winter and the battery never got charged. The much more expensive sealed...

DIY Adding a drain plug to Seadoo HX on the port (left) side

Hello everyone.:seeya: It has been a long time since I cruised this most awesome seadooforum on the internet. So I figured including a useful bit of advice seemed appropriate penance for my lack of participation. Today's adventure is adding a second drain plug to the HX hull. This applies to...

greasy bilge part 2, oil leak

If you are messing with oil lines on a 10-15 year old boat, it would be worth changing the hoses. They are a total pain to get to on the block. You would need to plan on removing most of the exhaust piping and the air box on the carbs to get to the fittings and hose clamps. The tips of...

    Replacing fuel lines

I put on safety goggles and whip out a can of carb cleaner for the selector valve. Hold it over a metal coffee can or plastic bucket. Hold the ports and carb cleaner nozzle away from you and other people. Spray carb cleaner with the tube inside one of the ports. Change the valve position...

    Bringing back the "SHINE"

I recently bought a dual action (orbital) polisher - the illustrious Porter Cable 7424xp. The polisher kit I picked up came with an array of velcro-backed foam pads for about $165. Someday I might actually spend more money on the pro-detailer chemicals like sealers and polishes on the cars...

headlight and tail lights on my 95 xp

LEDs for tailights and other marker lights won't be a large power drain on the charging system. Putting a pair of 55w halogens on the charging loop might be a different story.

    Maintenance Question - Loose Bolt

As long as you didn't drop a set of Ginsu knives or a box of drywall screws in there, you will be fine. Someday, you might even see that loose bolt again?!
