1996 Seadoo GTX 787 losing a cylinder? Cant find pressure leak!

Needs to align the Sleeve Ports to the Block Ports also... In the video, the Guy just slides them in but is not even wearing gloves to grab the Sleeve and rotate it for Port alignment.

    2001 gs starting/runnning issues

First, do a Compression check on both Cylinders, before chasing your tail all over the Ski. Sounds like the Engine has seized several times already...

Next time you break-in a fresh Engine, add Oil to your Fuel Tank (Premix) just in case the Stock Oil Injection isn't working right.

1996 Seadoo GTX 787 losing a cylinder? Cant find pressure leak!

Chamfering requires the use of a Porting Tool, Dremel Tool or Small Grinder to create a BEVEL all the way around the Ports. A Deburring Tool does NOT Chamfer the Port edges. Only have 2 Stroke Cylinders Bore & Hones done by a 2 Stroke Shop. Any other Shop, either doesn't know or forgets to...

2000 GTX mag carb not holding pressure

Probably needs a new Needle and Seat. If the Needle Viton Tip is grooved, it's bad. Use a Magnifying Glass to check. If the Needle Tip is not grooved, then the Valve Body O-Ring is leaking. Remove the Valve Body and install a new O-Ring. Can be Nitril Buna-N or Viton. Then try Pop-Off Test again.

1996 Seadoo GTX 787 losing a cylinder? Cant find pressure leak!

Use Plumbers Test or Expansion Plugs. The big one for the Exhaust can be found online. Google it. Wipe the Oil off the inner walls of the Manifolds to avoid Plug slippage.

1996 Seadoo GTX 787 losing a cylinder? Cant find pressure leak!

For a Stock Engine, the Seadoo Carb Jetting and Adjustment Specs are perfect provided the Fuel System and Carbs are clean, Genuine Mikuni Kits were used and there are no Air Leaks. An Engine can run Lean due to an Air Leak even with perfectly Jetted and Tuned Carbs. That's why an Air...

1996 Seadoo GTX 787 losing a cylinder? Cant find pressure leak!

"ASH TRASH This piston crown has an ash color, which shows that the engine has run hot. The ash color is actually piston material that has started to flash (melt) and turned to tiny flakes. If this engine was run any longer, it probably would,ve developed a hot spot and hole near the exhaust...

So spent big money on a New Crankshaft but want to reuse questionable used Pistons? Probably not going to save any money. Odds are against you. If the old Pistons fail, the Crankshaft will probably need to be replaced again... Did they have good Compression prior to disassembly? What is the...

    RAVE valve clearance

If too much metal is removed, then the Exhaust Port would become effectively "Taller". The Bottom End of the Throttle Range will lose some Power, Response and Performance. The DIY way of clearanceing RAVE Guillotine Blades is to wrap some sandpaper around the old Pistons (assuming they're one...

Here's how my carb rebuild is going

Yep, customizing a Flat Head Screwdriver is the simplest way. I actually do have a couple of unmodified Flat Head Screwdrivers that fit the Width, Length and Depth of the Brass Jet Slots perfectly. No mushing Brass Jets...:) Unfortunately, one Screwdriver has no size markings and the other...

Here's how my carb rebuild is going

Either use a Japanese Industry Standard JIS Screwdriver or an American Impact Driver Phillips Bit for the Mikuni Carb Screws. Anything else will strip the Screw Heads. American Phillips Screw Tips are designed to cam-out at a certain torque. The JIS are designed to seat deep and tight. Has to...

2000 XP 951 Cylinder not firing

First problem is that Vertex Carb kit... Only Genuine Authentic Made In Japan Mikuni Kits work right. Rebuild the Carbs right, then test again. Report back results. Seen another case where a bad Voltage Regulator/Rectifier also limited the rpms. After Engine operation, is the Rear Spark Plug...
