    787 Crankshaft, RFI vs Carb

Thanks, I figured they were different. I have an RFI ski and a spare Carb engine. Looks like I'll have to keep searching for another engine.

    787 Crankshaft, RFI vs Carb

The crankshafts for the 787 engine for both the RFI and Carb models, look the same. Does anyone have additional information if they are interchangeable?

    1997 GTX oil in crankcase

I left it sitting for the past week, waiting for the chance to work on it again. I looked in the crankcase and the PTO side was completely filled with oil. The other side was dry. I'm going to install a shutoff valve after I get all the oil out. Once I install this valve, how often should I...

    1997 GTX oil in crankcase

Line #13 coming from the bottom of the oil tank, add a shutoff valve? I also was able to suck most of the water out of the crankcase using a shop vac attached to a small hose that would fit between the crank counterbalances. I have a new cylinder gasket to install because it was leaking water...

    1997 GTX oil in crankcase

I disconnected line #13 from the top of the oil tank and pulled a vacuum on it because the crankcase was full of water/oil due to a bad gasket. When I pulled the vacuum it emptied the oil tank. This was with the cylinders removed. How did that happen and does the crankcase normally have a...

    Water problems

The cooling water pressure when in the water is built up in the jet pump. If your wear ring is shot you may not have enough pressure to circulate water thru the system. Something to check anyway.

1999 GTX-RFI Jetpump locks up after torqueing housing

Replaced the wear ring with a Delrin ring, still hits the impeller after torquing the pump down but not as bad. I would think the housing should maintain roundness after bolting it to the pump plate? Any ideas?

1999 GTX-RFI Jetpump locks up after torqueing housing

It was an aftermarket wear ring, could it be weaker than an OEM ring, to the point it becomes oval when tightening down the pump to the shoe?

1999 GTX-RFI Jetpump locks up after torqueing housing

I just replaced the wear ring, checked the bearings and repalced the oil. Installed a new neoprene seal on pump mount housing and bolted up the pump. Could not turn pump by hand or with wrench. Removed pump checked and it would turn freely when unbolted. I put a light up into the intake and...
