Does a 95 Sportster have the DESS enabled. I've read that the 95 does not. Under my dess cap there is no magnetic strip.

I just pulled a 587 from my 95 sportster (seized). I just picked up a 587 from a 92 gti The new motor has a single carb I would like to drop the gti motor right in as is. The seized engine has a dual carb setup. Iknow I may have to make some linkage changes, but will everything else work.

I am restoring a 1995 sportster. After pulling the pump I noticed the Inlet grate is missing. Does any one have source for this part or possibly a drawing so I can fabricate one

Thanks for your help. I wound up researching a bit more and got the diagram for the 95. Seems the setup is the same for the Explorer, 94, 95 sportster and speedster

Seems parts for the sportster only go back to 1996. I have a 1995 sportster with a 587 motor. Can't find a carbon ring kit that is 1995 specific. Seems that the 96,97 will work. It seems it doesn't have the shaft half moon clip for the shaft. Does anyone know if the 96,97 kit will work?
