XPS Synthetic oil got mixed with tiny amount of TCW3 okay to use?

Thanks @mikidymac. I appreciate your experience and willingness to help others (not to mention your carb thread). I will keep using this for the summer and perhaps over the winter consider switching to another brand.

95 XP 717 REBUILD or NEW ENGINE

Yeah I saw some of those but they were old and we had a bad experience with Full Bore just getting them to talk to us so I chose him. Maybe he's gotten things together and maybe I was just lucky. Either way, I'm happy with the build.

97 GTX "Ran out of gas" at WOT but on reserve it worked ok

Well, tbh...that's what I tell my wife ;) It's closer to 1.200 I'm sure. Havent done a final accounting yet

97 GTX "Ran out of gas" at WOT but on reserve it worked ok

FWIW, Westside has REAL brand new SeaDoo in the box selectors $50 shipped. That's what I'm gonna do. Even if that's not the problem, being 23 years old, I'm sure it could use it. After all, what's another $50 after buying a broken ski (looks brand new, only had 143 hours) and dumping $1,000 into...

Check with Westside Powersports for the seats. Also, ebay is your friend during this rebuild.

95 XP 717 REBUILD or NEW ENGINE

Just my 2 cents, I used Tom at SeadooEngineShop and he was a stand up guy and honored his word. $800 including shipping (back) for my 787 full rebuild. It did take a little longer than expected, but the country was under quarantine so it was expected.

XPS Synthetic oil got mixed with tiny amount of TCW3 okay to use?

One other option if you're filling up for the first time is Quicksilver 2-Stroke PWC Marine Engine Oil 1 Gallon 8M0058908 available at WalMart. @ $40/gallon and free shipping its a good bit cheaper than the SeaDoo brand and clearly states it meets or exceeds manufacturers specs. It's full...

97 GTX "Ran out of gas" at WOT but on reserve it worked ok

The ones I've seen that claim to be SeaDoo brand say "Made in Taiwan" on the side...doesnt seem legit but could be I guess.

Guest turned my gtx upside down for about a minute

I learned that the hard way. Took my new-to-me 97 GTX out and convinced the wife (not a good swimmer) it was totally stable. Then did an idle speed sharp turn and into the drink we went. She wasn't happy but insisted on driving it to get over her fear. Sounds like all is well with yours though.

97 GTX "Ran out of gas" at WOT but on reserve it worked ok

Just completed 7 hours of break in after rebuild on my new-to-me 97 GTX. Carbs rebuilt with genuine Mikuni kits, new fuel lines, fuel filter, springs (wrong ones were in carb, again new ones Mikuni) popoff set etc. I finally started running it WOT a little and after a minute it died like it ran...

    The Seadoo Carb Rebuild Thread

My advice to you is to start a new thread as the senior guys here look for new threads with zero responses. They have much more experience than I do. You will get better responses that way as most dont watch this thread anymore (on a regular basis).

    The Seadoo Carb Rebuild Thread

Sounds like it could be a fuel supply issue. Do you still have the gray fuel lines or have they been replaced? Have you checked the mail fuel filter?

    The Seadoo Carb Rebuild Thread

If it's bogging down it typically means a lean condition. Have you adjusted the low side yet? While rebuilding, did you check where the low (and high) were set and put them in the right place? Also, did you check popoff pressure? I just did the same thing and my popoff was too low one one and...

Carb adjusting during break in period

Thanks @JeremyD615 for the reply. I will leave them at current and see how it goes. The link arm plastic broke so I'm waiting for the new one to arrive to put carbs back on. Bought another set of gaskets to always keep one on hand!

    The Seadoo Carb Rebuild Thread

Thanks @mikidymac for this post! Great info! I'm going back thru my carbs now (new to me 97 GTX I bought with a blown motor). It needed 3 turns on low to not fall on it's face (then was too rich). Ran good at 5k rpm but sputtered and popped at 3-4k. Ordered and received correct springs and mag...

Carb adjusting during break in period

Wow! I checked PTO and it was 51!! Mag 21...no wonder it didnt have crisp response and I had to richen it to 3 turns to get it to run.

Carb adjusting during break in period

OK so I built the popoff tool and with the silver springs it was 21 on MAG side. I ordered the black ones from Ebay (thanks dr00andrew for the link). Now popoff comes at 30. Book says 33+- 10 but seadoosource says 38. Since 30 is within spec at -3, is it critical to try and bend the arm to get...

Carb adjusting during break in period

Thanks for that. I searched but didnt find those. The ones I found are here...ended up ordering the ones from EBay, thanks! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002304IZI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Carb adjusting during break in period

I kept all the parts as I removed them and there were definitely no black springs. I ordered a couple and parts to make PO tester. Time to pull it back in and put the carbs back on the bench. I'm getting pretty efficient at doing this part of the job now so it shouldnt take too long.
