    Where to find Pro-X rings

Bought a ski that swallowed a bolt down the intake and stripped the RV gear. Tore it apart and found it's been rebuilt with +1mm Pro-X pistons and a Hotrods crank, and all are in good condition. Wanted to re-ring, and bought new Wiseco rings(8300FL) that said they were for the Pro-X 01.5508.100...

    HX pto?

Got this spare motor with a ski I purchased and had never seen a PTO like it before. Is it from an HX, and is it any good?

    Circlip position?

Wondering how others install new circlips. Manual says circlip opening at 6 o'clock, but WSM says opening at 12 o'clock. I've always done the 6 o'clock and never had issues. ??

    New upholstery - Challenger 1800

Started in on the interior of my recently purchased Challenger 1800. After removing the "custom" duct tape, the seats showed serious signs of wear and neglect

    '98 Challenger 1800 pump & impeller question

So I've started digging into my new winter project and found that someone has had their little d*ck beaters into almost every part of this boat. Pulled the jet pumps off, and not only found that they are different, but also running two different impellers. One pump is brass and one is plastic...

    Water regulator spring

Have 96 and 97 GTX. The springs in the water regulators are both broken. Wondering if anyone sells these new? Local dealer was worthless, and having no luck searching the web for a source either. Thanks

    Carb o-ring size

Cleaning the carb on a 2000 GTi. Wonder what size o-ring goes on the seat. Everything else is good and I'd hate to buy a rebuild kit for one o-ring

    upholstery cleaning experiment

This is the bow cushion out of a Sportster 1800 that I purchased that had been neglected for 3-4 years. It sat uncovered in someones back yard full of mildew, pine needles, and leaves. I had planned on buying a new upholstery kit, so figured I would experiment with cleaners to see what worked...

Need help from an 1800 owner

Recently purchased a '98 Sportster 1800. Someone cut off the plugin for the speedo. I'm assuming the speedo doesn't work, but not sure why they would remove the plug. Hoping someone could snap a pic of the back of their speedo so I can figure out where the wires go. I believe the Sportster 1800...

    Sportster 1800 no beeps

Just purchased a '98 sportster 1800. I'm getting no beeps when connecting the lanyard. Beeper is good, have confirmed by grounding temp wire. With lanyard on, beeper has continuous power to purple wire. I'm assuming the mpem grounds the beeper twice when lanyard is connected? Also the speedo...

    Changing oil types.

I picked up a '96 Challenger and it looks like the PO was using the Mystic sea and snow synthetic blend. I know the 787 calls for full synthetic and would like to switch. Am I good with just draining the oil tank, or do I need to try and remove as much as possible from the RV cavity. Issues with...

    Feeling guilty

Went to look at a very clean 96 GTX tonight. Owner said it didn't run and the local power sports dealer had diagnosed it as needing a new "computer". I threw a battery in to see what it was doing and check compression. No power to the gauges, so decided to jump the solinoid to test compression...

    787 mpem question

Wondering if an mpem from a 787x is different from a base 787. Found a Gtx with a bad mpem, and have a good mpem from a 787x. Thanks.

Suggestions for carb kits besides OSD?

OSD Marine is in the middle of moving their location, so I am unable to order from them at this time. Wondering if anyone has a comparable source to purchase a OEM Mikuni carb kit with needle and seats at the same price or better. Everything else I find is aftermarket parts or more expensive...

    Easy fix for faded hoods

Bring color back to a faded hood with a heat gun. Keep the gun moving to avoid overheating and warping. Also avoid or remove gauges, as the heat will melt the plastic lens(don't ask how I know this ). It may take a few attempts to get a uniform color across the hood. Not as good as...

    A $200 surprise

I bought this '94 XP a few days ago for $200. Very clean and everything works, but junk motor. Owner said he had a mechanic look/listen to it, and told him something in the bottom end let loose, and the motor was garbage. I bought it planning to part it, so no biggie. Got it home, pulled the...

    premix question

I was talking to a guy on the river today about premix, and got both of us scratching our heads. One of the skis I have was converted to premix by the previous owner, and I was told by him to mix 40:1. I run Amsoil, and the bottle says to mix 50:1. I figured running 40:1 is added protection...

    my $500 Ebay SPX

Just picked this up off Ebay for $500. Its a '96 SPX that had a SBT replacement motor installed 3 years ago and has around 10 hours on it. Needs some tlc, but runs awesome. The VTS rod is broken and the boot is shot. Pulled the fuel baffle to find out why the gauge isn't reading and found it...
