2001 Seadoo gtx

Kinda stuck on my seadoo problem. I sucked up a rope on my 2001seadoo gtx, Di and I took the rock cage off to cut the rope out and when I got the rope out there was a 2inch width ring ( metal of some kind) around the shaft that could run up and down the shaft. Any idea what that ring could be? It can go from the back end of the prob to the hull side of the shaft

It’s in the hull side. It got slid back there. I’ll post a picture when I’m able to slide it back down toward the back to get a pic

That seams like something from the drive shaft bearing

We they don’t have a drive shaft bearing I believe so maybe something from the carbon seal

Yeah that’s the only thing I could see it being now that I pulled up diagrams of it. Thanks for the help

That black plastic ring is from the front impeller cone seal.
