    Another flush connection question

I searched and searched... I've had the 787 Challenger for a few years and just picked up a 2005 4-tec Supercharged yesterday. The previous owner was on a lake and dealer maintained. He doesn't know where the connection for the flush is... And I cant find it?? Am I missing a connection...

Throttle not returning? 1997 Challenger 787

Water trial wasn't good. I went to 3/4 throttle and the boat performed well, so I went to idle, then back to about 3/4 and then had no resistance at all in the lever. Pulled the boat back out and brought it back to the garage. Found my throttle cable frayed a bit at the lever and looks like...

Throttle not returning? 1997 Challenger 787

So had a local Bombardier guy take my carbs, clean the throttle 'shafts' and put it back together. They are still sticking just a bit, preventing the throttle to return all the way back. I'm going to put a helper spring and hook on the connection between both carbs, BUT, it's just a tad too...

Throttle not returning? 1997 Challenger 787

Thanks POPPS. Yes, it is a jet boat. But when you pull back on the throttle, it should throttle back.

Throttle not returning? 1997 Challenger 787

It's time to get the boat out! I started it on the trailer and noticed that my throttle wasn't returning back. I had this issue last year and took my carbs apart, cleaned the butterfly shafts, etc and ran the boat probably another 20 times last year before putting it away. I disconnected the...

    Boat won't go above 4000rpm??

Looks like my bellows is good, so probably leaking back up through. I will try and find an o-ring and try that out. Should that 'bolt' going through the center of the diaphragm be tight??

    Boat won't go above 4000rpm??

Ohhh... I found my hose from the water regulator to the top of the tuned pipe was burnt and chewed! Replaced. All works good. Except I have a leak in the valve. I will do some more checking.

    Water Regulator on waterbox

I'm finding some good info on why my exhaust hose connection keeps melting, so making some headway here. I took my water regulator off to inspect. I found the long small hose going back to the front of the tuned pipe completely melted and unhooked! So I'm going to fix that. In the mean time...

    Boat won't go above 4000rpm??

Thanks for the note back. I replaced that (2in?) hose from the picture above, took the boat out and after 20mins of running, the brand new hose split in the middle!! What is causing this to fail?

    Boat won't go above 4000rpm??

Solved... I think. Looks like culprit was the rubber connector between the tuned pipe and final exhaust. Had a little issue where it slipped off, but retighened and should be good. Plugs look great. More testing tomorrow.

    Boat won't go above 4000rpm??

Also, now that I think about it, the engine bay was filled with white smoke, didn't smell like anything. It also looks like there might be a leak in the rubber connector between the tuned pipe and straight pile? I tried to see but looks like on the bottom of this rubber connector. Could an...

    Boat won't go above 4000rpm??

1997 Challenger Single Engine Rotax I tried my boat out tonight, first time since fixing the throttle butterfly on one of the carbs à few days ago. (it was stuck and I freed it up, reinstalled everything same as before) Boat was working real well before this. Started and ran good. I ran for...
