Welcome Azeus. I bought a 96xp myself this Summer and am fairly new myself. Hope you soon get things going, these are great fun.

    Dog chewed my seat

Depending on how badly it's mangled, stuffing and duct tape might make it smooth enough. It would be worth some experimentation before coughing up $350. I know the feeling, I had the same happen to a dirt bike.

    Dog chewed my seat

Some nice looking seat covers are available online, restuff the worst areas the best you can and put a cover on it.

    Seadoorider52's trailer fix up thread

That looks great, it's nice what improvement a coat of paint makes. I just repainted my double trailer as well, Rustoleum rattle can.

1997 GSX: 13 year old spark plugs

The 7 is indeed the hotter plug. NGK is the opposite of most other plugs. As advised, go with the 8's. By all means, change out those fuel hoses and clean out the fuel system.

    towing - trailer hitch height.

That adjustable hitch looks like the way to go, you must be getting a great deal to drive 1,000 miles to get it. Congrats, enjoy.

    New Seadoo owner!

Welcome Kenneth. I am new to Seadoos also, but had a Waverunner in the past. GTX and XP here. Trying to get in as much riding as I can before it gets cold.

    Hope All Is Well

Wow, I'm glad you enjoyed her maiden voyage. I enjoy my older Seadoos, I have recently invested more in my XP than I could get out of it, so I will just have to get my money's worth of fun out of it. Due to increased scarcity of parts I am making tentative plans to, Lord willing, get a new one...

Anyone in the overland Park Kansas Area

Hello there to everyone on this thread. You guys are still young, I am 63. I had a 20 ft Mach 1 Chevy powered for 20 years. It was great when I could find time to put it on Tablerock for a week, days at Hillsdale were fun, but just too big and took a big gas hog truck to tow it. I also had...

Do I need a custom trailer?

You should be fine with a normal 2 ski trailer, I have older units, GTX and XP which are about as different as what you are considering, XP comparable to Spark in size. There is some adjustability in the bunks so you can suit your preferences.

Trailer set up, what you got?

Eliminate the handle on the other to clear my large tool box. The gearing makes this work well despite the reduced leverage. I put in new wheel bearings just for good measure. One of the hub's is not in too great shape due to a bearing failure with the previous owner, the inner seal won't stay...

Trailer set up, what you got?

I got a double trailer with a pair of Seadoos I bought earlier this season. It was equipped with lever action 400 lb capacity winches, which were just barely adequate. I put a pair of 1200 lb rated winches on it. I had to shorten the cranks on one side and

New to me ultimate pwc trailer

Nice work on the trailer, great tow vehicle too. I worked for Ford for over 32 years, the majority of the time building F150's.

96 XP intermittent misfiring and water in hull

I got the XP out of the shop this morning, then my wife and I spent most of the day on the lake. All is well with it now, thanks for the great advice.

    Recommended battery size/CCA?

I too have read of excess carbon buildup on the RAVE valve wrecking pistons, thus periodic cleaning is recommended. Taking a look at them would eliminate that factor. I am a new owner of a 96xp myself. Mine is sidelined with a leaking base gasket. In spite of having done numerous rebuilds on...
