Hydrolocked after sitting in water overnight. WTF??

Not sure if this is a eureka moment in my battle of the hot starting issue, but for the first time in 4 years I’m not able to get the boat on the lift due to insanely low water levels in the lake. So I left it floating hooked on our buoy last night. This morning I went out to move it and it...

2006 Challenger 180 - the last issue I'm chasing down

Resurrecting an older thread of mine, I am still fighting this issue. I appreciate the wealth of much-smarter-than-me people on this forum and the ideas given thus far. I've been following this thread about an identical issue and how the solution was a misbehaving TOPS valve; so I have done a...

    2005 Sportster 4-tec 215 still won't start when hot

Thanks for the update! On mine CanDoo doesn’t report that the TOPS valve has changed state when hot but I wonder now if it’s a false reading…ie the valve is actually f***ed but the ECU doesn’t see it that way. Really appreciate the insight. John

    2005 Sportster 4-tec 215 still won't start when hot

Ple999, did you ever get this solved? I’m running down the same issue with my 06 Challenger w/ same engine. Corylee73, leaking how? Is there a check valve or something in the exhaust chain to keep water out?

Stock fuel pump assembly disassembles? (searched, couldn't find answer)

Quick question, probably a dumb one... on a 2006 Challenger, does the stock fuel pump assembly come apart to accept an aftermarket pump like the Quantum Fuel units or others? It will probably become obvious when I pull my stock now-dead pump out but for the life of me I can't figure this one...

    2006 Seadoo Challenger 1800 thumping

Hey Wicked, have you had any luck with this one? Did you ever get your boat into your mechanic? I've had mine out a couple times since I pulled the weeds off the impeller shaft and, knock on wood, it hasn't made that noise again.

Ya I saw that in your other post. Def interested to hear what your mechanic says too. Cheers.

    2006 seadoo challenger

I got a chance to crawl under the boat this afternoon…I found the impeller shaft in the jet intake was wrapped in a bunch of weeds and grass plus a couple small bits caught between the impeller and wear ring. Got it all cleaned out but I have not taken it back out since nor am I sure that...

New with Candoo - numbers confirmation

Since I’m not 100% sure what these numbers should be, do the temps here look correct for a fully warmed up Challenger 180, 215hp SCIC, running at cruise? Give or take…The temps were stable at the time, no significant fluctuations. And for those that have Candoo, the scale for Engine temp...

    2006 seadoo challenger

This is crazy, my 06 Challenger just did this today for the first time ever. Was out for about 8 mins, boat was up to temp and stable according to Candoo, running around 6500rpm and then this noise happened. Shut her down, no alerts/codes. Fired back up and had no issues in the 5mins getting...

Excellent! You should be able to see the impeller from both sides through the pump and intake with a flashlight; make sure it looks clean and not damaged or nicked. Checking the wear ring clearance needs a feeler gauge but if you can see light between the impeller and ring, then pretty-good...

    Buying advice challenger 180

They are great sized boats. Price-wise, my dealer in BC had the ‘09 for $24k and they said they could give me around $11k for my ‘06 if I wanted to trade it in (then prob flip at $14k or more...). I’ve seen prices run the gamut, there’s an ‘06 on kijiji right now for $24k! [emoji15] Over...

    Buying advice challenger 180

No worries agreed, the prices up here right now are grossly inflated...high demand, low supply. Don’t know much about the 2012’s other than it was the last year of boat production for Sea-Doo. I would imagine that they are the best as far as creature comforts and options go. Not sure how to...

    Buying advice challenger 180

Welcome, cheers from BC! I own a 2006 Challenger 180, bought it 4 years ago with 103hrs on it, it now has a little over 200. I generally I like it but often wish for a 2007 or newer for the digital dash. I believe the boats stayed pretty consistent for each model up to 2012 other than minor...
