95 gtx carb base gaskets and exhaust supports

Yes those are the bolts. I was trying to leave clamp connected because it looks like there is a sealant there I didn't want to disturb. For the air intake is it ok to just bolt it back on then or do I need to go get some permatex at the store?

95 gtx carb base gaskets and exhaust supports

I finally just finished my gtx top end rebuild. Rebuild was done by full bore. I got 150psi each cylinder and and the engine fired right up on the trailer. I'm getting everything else put together on the ski and I assume the top of the air intake for the carbs has base gaskets as in link...

    95 GTX oil injection

Thank you for the quick reponse. Looking at the part pics the "jam nut" is the only nut that attaches the cable to the throttle assembly. This nut was on the threads that wasn't connected, so it was just left hanging. That jam nut seems to spin fairly easily. When adjusting the cable even...

    95 GTX oil injection

Hi, Its been awhile since I've been on this forum. I went halfs with my sister and we bought a 95gtx and a 96gsx about 2 years ago. I decided to get the fuel lines replaced and have the carbs rebuilt even though they rode great. The first time out after having the work done the gtx bogged...

Thanks for all the replies. I usually do everything myself but unfortunately I can't find anytime to do this and thats why I'm going the mechanic route. I have talked to another mechanic who is doing the gsx for $150 including carb checks and cleaning if necessary and around $200 for the gtx...

96 challenger no beeps no start

I'm selling my 96 challenger and went to do a water test today. I installed a new battery and I accidentally touched the negative wire to the postive terminal on the battery which created a spark. Now I get no beeps when DESS is placed on and no start, but all other electrical in the boat...

    96 challenger vts problem

Got it rethreaded but.... So I got the end of the cable rethreaded, but the problem now is the trim is out of adjustment due to the 1" or so I lost. I can connect it, but it won't shoot the bow of the boat out of water nearly as much now on take off. There is no trim adjustment for the 96...

    96 challenger vts problem

continuing.... I unbolted the Vts from the hull and can't see any other part that will come apart. Is it possible to just thread the end of the metal rod that attaches to the rotule so I can screw the rotule back on and then make an adjustment to compensate? It seems too much to get a whole new...

    96 challenger vts problem

The Vts cable that connects to the trimming ring broke off on my boat. This is all outside of hull and isn't the cable itself but the metal rod that snapped just above the rotule. Do I have to replace the whole cable or is there a way to just replace the out of hull part?

    96 challenger vts cable

Hi, On my variable trim system I broke the piece on the back of my boat that actually moves the trim up and down. I believe its called the VTS cable. It directly screws into the VTS Rotule. 2 questions. 1. Why is there an N in front of the 10 (N10) in the parts directory, is that because...

    96 challenger maintenance

My 96 challenger runs fine, but could probably run better. Besides cleaning the Rave valves I don't think this boat has been maintained in any way. I finally have the time to work on it. I have only had it for about 1.5 yrs. I unscrewed the fuel filter which had a lot of gunk in it, and...

Help, 96 challenger stuck in forward!

yes, it is the reverse gate. I used the boat and it worked fine but I would have to manually put it in neutral by reaching my hand down there and moving it while someone else moved the lever to N. Neutral did still work fine. There are pieces hanging on both sides but the main piece that...

Help, 96 challenger stuck in forward!

Reverse metal piece. Ok, so i looked more at the boat. And the trim piece that puts the boat in reverse broke off. I can manually put the boat in neutral and use it in forward, but I can not move out of forward. I was quoted 119 from the dealer. I was told it is part 271000947. Is this...

Help, 96 challenger stuck in forward!

I just got to the lakehouse we rented. Took the boat out for 5 min and I did a dive. From full throttle forward took off throttle and put in reverse then floored it in reverse. After that reverse stopped working, then when I parked the boat it was stuck in forward. I don't want to force it...
