    my 96 spi blows the 5amp. my97 gsx blows the 15amp. Both skis were jumped many times with dead batteries! i've read that thte diode and rectifier are bad in theMPEMs. does anyone have a picture of a cleaned out MPEM? I'mdigging super-seal crap out. Not an easy task! I dont want to screw...

    Hey Jason, I pulled the multiplug and re-installed the starter. Once I pulled the plug, the starter did not spin and it beeped twice??

    Pulled that F#^*$! starter this morning! I hooked up a 2 amp trickle and it spins and engages but I'm not real clear on how to bench test it? it? Also, will the starter from the 96SPI interchange?

    both batteries are dead. Jumped it with a 2 amp trickle but still kept running. Pulled theF*^#%! starter this morning but I'm really not sure how to bench test? I do know when you give it the juice, it spins!!

    I pulled the plug wires from the coil and cut them back a bit. It fired right up but i pulled the lanyard and the starter kept running. The flywheel wasn't engaged but the starter motor kept running none the less. I guess I'll pull it out and give it a look see! Also, is there a water hook up...

    cool... got the box out but before, even with the starter engaged, I have absolutly no spark! any ideas? all the fuses are good. i ran a continuity test on the starter switch itself. looks good! P.S. its the 97'...

    :banghead: Hey All, I've got a 1996 SPI which blows the 5 amp fuse every time! Someone told me its a Motorola diode which does not like jumpstarts!? I also have a 1997 Seadoo GTS? IT says GTS all over but, I can find anything listed under GTS... It doesnt blow fuses even when I jump it...
