98 GTX Ltd nose cone HELP!

Found one at WSM. Even there’s didn’t list my year but after speaking with a tech rep we figured out which one to use. It is item #003-415-02. Description: Jet Pump Nose Cone 720-951 01-07

    951 jet pump thrust bearing

So I purchased a Titan rebuild kit for my 1998 gtx ltd and can’t get the impeller to turn after just hand tightening, much less torquing to 52 ft lbs. I’ve already made sure the bearing and shim aren’t caught in the shaft groove. Started investigating and noticed the old bearing (don’t know if...

98 GTX Ltd nose cone HELP!

Been searching for a new nose cone kit (incl. pusher) for my 98 gtx ltd. Everything I find says its for model years 19## thru 97 or 1999 thru 20##. Does anyone know where I can get a kit for my 98? Or, does the 99 or 97 fit the 98? Even the kits I find that say 1998 specify GTX RFI but don't...

Is there a how to/troubleshooting sticky thread for fuel gauges

I had the same issue on my 98 gtx ltd. The cap/screen fell off the bottom of my fuel pickup tube/sending unit and the float fell out. My float was also flooded with fuel. Could be either of those things or a sending unit circuit board problem or all three.

Impeller pitch for 98 GTX Ltd???

Hey guys! I’m trying to buy a replacement impeller for my 98 GTX Ltd. The service manual (pg 09-02-2) says OEM pitch is 14/21. However, every time I search the internet for a replacement I find something different like 15/20 or 14/22. Do you think the manual is wrong? Or, maybe that pitch was...

    1997 Gsx Rave Valve Help

Is the nut turning independently of the “disc” it’s on? If so, it’s not only stripped, it’s broken. That is supposed to be a one piece molded part.

    1997 Gsx Rave Valve Help

Sounds like the threaded portion of that “piston exhaust” is stripped. It should bottom out when tightened ( but not too tight cuz it’s plastic.) The leak is probably the o-ring or base gasket depending on where it’s coming from. I just rebuilt the RAVEs on my 951 and found that the previous...

    951 RAVE Valve cleaning

I’m going to try making something to catch the debris. If successful, I’ll post it back here.

    Rave Valve Differences

So I measured the stem (it looks small to me too) and it’s 0.1mm smaller than the existing guillotines. Then I measured from the bottom side of the stem collar to the center of the blade edge. Ski #1 measured 55mm; ski #2 measured 55.5mm; the new Titan measured 56mm. Also, the arc of the Titan...

    951 RAVE Valve cleaning

Did stuff fall into engine or did you have a way to trap it? Does it even matter?

    951 RAVE Valve cleaning

Did you ever find out what to do with cleaning the valve channels? I’m doing the same maintenance.

    Rave Valve Differences

Damn. Sounds like I have to pull the cylinders. I guess I’ll know more after checking everything out you referenced. The ski with the longer guillotines actually ran pretty good. Maybe I should just put the old ones back in 😬

    Rave Valve Differences

First, thanks everyone for all the info. I’m learning a lot and starting to do my own maintenance. I’m rebuilding my RAVE valves on both of my skis (98 GTX Ltd) and so I purchased 4 new Titan guillotines. Question is… why is there such a huge difference in the length and shape? I’m measuring a...

It looks like the previous owner just filled the gasket area with silicone grease. I’ll have to try finding a replacement gasket.
