I ended up finding damage on the gear on the crank. Couldn't see it from the top but after close inspection there was a small chunk missing and very slight bend. I already sent it out to get rebuilt. Already spent too much time on it and have other stuff to do.

Okay. Is there a picture of how much I should put? It looks worse than it is in the photo but I thought the same thing.

Okay. I guess I will be buying a crank. Doh. I did find slight damage on the crank gear that I did not see at first. I don't think it could be anything else at this point. It's odd to me that there was a failure on this one as it's such low hours and no sign of damage anywhere else.

Well, new update. If I do not torque the bolts but put the cases together, everything spins smoothly. However, once I torque the bolts, it brings back the rough spot.

The gear looks brand new and centered. That's what's so weird to me.

Well found the issue. A tiny bolt was missing for the ground in the stator. It is isnt original so I can guessing person who changed it didnt put that in.

Hello everyone, Been fixing up a 95 SPI. Having issues with MPEM getting ground. Narrowed it down that the actual ground cable from the Stator has a lot of resistance and not giving my e box the ground it needs. Now, I have had plenty of bad stators before but usually its the yellow cables...

My guess too is that someone took it out for some reason when rebuilding it and caused this issue. This engine has clearly been messed with. Pistons aren't original, etc. didn't probably clean it after putting it back in.

I know for a fact it is the plug sadly, I cleaned it really well and see a very minor leak from the bottom of the plug. I saw a little oil in the hull but assumed it was just a line like you said was common. Replaced every line in the thing and was shocked when it was still leaking somewhere...
