    97 GTX 787 / 6000rpm

I’m going to look into getting new raves for next season. The slotted ones could really help with the RPM? I hear them open at 5k. Because it hangs onto 5k for a couple seconds then they open and it opens up to 6200 before dropping back to 6k

    97 GTX 787 / 6000rpm

Update : pop off pressure didn’t help the rpm issue. But makes it smoother. I am completely stumped. I have about 6200 rpm at 45 mph max. Revs out of the water to 6850. Any thing else i should look for ??? Only other thing i noticed is the battery isn’t charging. so i unplugged the rectifier to...

I sure hope it works. Good luck with yours. I’m testing this one out Tuesday again. I have 4 skis, so it’s hard to get around to each issue haha

    97 GTX 787 / 6000rpm

I know for a fact it will help my hard start , and that alone is good enough for my peace of mind. I don’t know if it will help my 6k rpm issue, but i hope so. Because if it doesn’t i really don’t know what else to check. Water reg isn’t leaking. Raves are opening. Rectifier is fine. Mpem is fine.

I set it to 35. Do you think this will help with RPM issue? One carb was at 43 and other was 21 lol. Now both 35

Yes still having oil to rotary. I have stock air box on. I don’t know how they removed choke. I had a primer hooked up but removed it because it was trash. I also took the first rave valve off, the bellow came off on the top where the spring is. So i set it all back up. Cleaned it up. Checked...

    97 787 midrange performance issue

I am also having a similar issue but i can hear the raves open on water. At around 5k it will jump to 6000 after the raves open, but it stays at 6k consistently. Runs great actually , but not getting full rpm. If i hit a wake, and the intake and nozzle gets into the air, the ski will rev to...

No the raves aren’t slotted. I have no idea where to look next. I can hear the raves open at 5k. Then they jump to 6 and level out there.

I was going to pressure test the carbs next. I also don’t have a choke. It is also pre mix and I’m running 40-1

    97 GTX 787 / 6000rpm

So an update. I added a o ring. Went out on the river. Off the bat hit 6800 and 53. Super happy. Went over to the dock and waited for my buddy. Turned it back on 5 min later. Sits at 6000 rpm again. Regulator is no longer leaking. What should i look at next ? The raves look fine. It’s not the...

I’m going to try that o ring idea and put some Vaseline around it. I was thinking it needed an o ring as the bottom plastic seemed to be bigger than the valve cylinder that you circled. It didn’t seem to set in there tightly

    97 GTX 787 / 6000rpm

I have had this ski at 53 mph before. Top end went. Broke it in correctly (took forever) .. no only like 5900-6000 rpm hitting 42. I unplugged the rectifier to make sure it wasn’t that and nothing changed. These are pictures of the water regulator. It’s leaking from that little hole

Raves are good. Valve is working correctly. Just took it apart and really looked at it and buttoned it up. How would i know if exhaust hose separated internally, can i bypass the regulator?

    97 GTX 787 / 6000rpm

Hello all. seadoo gtx 787 won’t go passed 6000 rpm at 43 mph. New top end. 145 compression. water regulator was leaking, so i replaced that thinking that is what caused the low Rpm. Still the issue. Wear ring is good. then i checked rave valves. Cleaned them both up and adjusted to stock...
