    2011 Speedster 150 Fuel Filters

Did the fuel filters today. Original filters removed, they would be from 2011. 12 years old, not in bad shape but needed to be replaced. Pretty simple job just was dragging my heels on it as I have so much going on. Took an hour.

Do I really need to rebuild the super charger on a low hour ski/boat?

One question I see here coming up again and again... "I just bought this [Boat/PWC] and it is a 201x and only has 40 hours on it. Do i really need to rebuild the Super Charger?" The answer is always YES, unless you have clear documentation that it was rebuilt in the last 2 years. The Super...

    Mirror

Anyone with ideas for putting a rear view mirror on a Speedster without a Bimini or Tower? I am tired of driving with my head swiveled keeping an eye on the kids in the tube.

    Today's broken part

Today, my rear hatch popped open while underway. Turns out the hatch pin separated. Looking at parts lookup, $115.00 for this? Crazy... I could try some rubber epoxy or cement but I highly doubt it would ever hold.

Seadoo Speedster 150 bilge pump relocate.

Working to solve the issue with the poor placement of the factory bilge pump. My new bilge pump and new location. Testing is next...

    Inspecting Pump

Since owning my Speedster, each year I go through the normal oil/filter/plug change in the spring in preparation for another season. I have also added a full pump check. I do this as it brings me piece of mind that I have inspected the pump fully for signs of any type of breakdown in the...

After winter coolant in the bilge

So I pulled the Speedster out and removed the shrink-wrap. Immediately noticed the coolant bottle was about 1.5 inches below the cold line. Looked in the bilge and yes some green. There is definitely green up where the cap overflow line is but I don't see any in the overflow line. Also, can't...

    RPM vs. Temperature

So this year, i noticed a drop in top speed RPM with my Speedster. Started out the season being able to hit 8060 RPM's, then towards the middle summer was noticing that I could only get 79/78 ish. Took it out last night and hit 8140. The water temp is now 64 Degrees and it was 67 Degrees in...

    150 Speedster and swimming

2nd year with the boat. Battled a leaking exhaust can last year that caused a lot of troubshooting to find. Also had some surging and poor running. This was a leaking IC. Then the SC failed. Since then the machine has been running awesome. The odd time though, I would get a large hesitation...

    Intercooler

For shits and giggles, I cut my failed IC open. The failure was caused by condensation being left in the air side, froze and expanded. It was in there for 8 years and surprisingly not bad.

    5th seat for speedster

Thinking of making a setup to add a removable 5th seat for my Speedster 150. Anyone ever see anything simular in your web travels? I have 2 kids and am tired of the "who gets to bring a friend today" crap.

    Mystery piece of rubber.

Was winterizing my speedster 150 today and found this down in between the ride plate and pump. It was just laying there. Thoughts?

    Speedster Winter Cover

Looking for options to what you do for a winter cover for their boats. I have the factory mooring cover on my speedster 150 but I would think I should cover that. Looking for those who store outside in Canadian Winter weather. Any ideas or thoughts? Should I just shrink wrap it?

    Winterization

Starting to think of that dreaded day where running the boat will become less enjoyable as the temp drops. Never owned a Seadoo before so have been looking at what I am going to do to winterize. The oil change, fuel stabilizer, etc. All of the normal stuff I have no concerns on. The 2 items I...

    Stutter or missfire after starting.

Well, again I think I was chasing 2 issues. Put the rebuild SC in this morning. Spent an hour or so running at all RPM's running this AM. Lots of stops, a couple of full 62 MPH runs. All great. Heading back when coming into the bay, thought I saw something in the water so looped around to...

I got lucky with SC failure

I had an SC failure at 88 hours with excessive play in the outside bearing. I sent the SC in to be rebuilt and it was ready to be picked up today. I had asked them to keep the old parts so I can see if I have to start tearing the engine apart for parts. As you can see by the attached photos...

Speedster 150 Exhaust Touching the Hull

Just a recap to maybe help someone else out with the same problem... I bought a new to me 2011 Speedster 150 255HP this year with only 55 hours on it. From day one, there was always water in the bilge and through troubleshooting I determined that it was coming from the exhaust somewhere. (The...

Couple of things looking for comment

First off I am now getting an odd stutter when taking off from stopped in the water. It is definitely a miss fire. Doesn't seem to do it often. Boat still runs strong as in 62 mph and 8100 ram. Seems to happen after you shut it down for a min and then go. Or if you are running at a constant...

If you have a Seadoo Speedster 150, read this post.

Earlier in the year I bought a used 2011 Speedster 150 255. It only had 55 hours on it and was in fantastic shape. From first voyage, I noticed that there is always a fair amount of water in the bilge. I ran it on the hose, tried to find the leak while running but never found the problem. I...
